I follow that. My question is more if I’m the only client connected to my relay will I see anything besides my own posts? Like is there an inter-relay communication that passes the posts between relays?
I’ve noticed a weird issue with profile metadata. When I was setting up NIP-5 I changed my profile metadata data several times because I didn’t know what I was doing. Now sometimes clients will load an older metadata profile. Of course there is no way to delete the old profile metadata after it has been broadcast. Is there any fix to this issue besides only load your metadata one time?
Do relays communicate with each other like is a relay also a client? Like I run my own relay and it pulls the feed from the Damus relay. Is that how it works?

I completed my first @PeerswapLN on the #Bitcoin Lightning Network to balance a channel with a peer. It was glorious! This is the cheapest way to get balanced channels. Peerswap supports Core LIghtning and LND. Contact me if you want to open a channel and try it out!
I tend to agree with you. You get a check mark and that’s cool but an identity was not really verified. I would say NIP-5 does a pretty good job of proving a given about isn’t a bot due to either the effort of setup or paying the fee.
On the flip side the NIP-5 spec makes it sound more like an identifier to make locating an account easier to search for and even the method of having 1000 accounts under one domain does improve account lookup.
Has anyone tried the python-nostr client? I really prefer a desktop client to mobile or browser based. More-Speech is nice but something more graphical would be nice.
I’ve used it. I held my nose and bought a Urbit ID and got on the network because I really liked the idea and wanted it to work. The onboarding process for normies to get on Nostr is challenging but for normies to get on Urbit is completely untenable. Then when you finally get on the network the experience is very underwhelming. Very limited apps, not a great chat experience (chat seems to be the main app). I tried to setup the Bitcoin wallet, the documentation was incomplete and out of date. Nostr is already a much better experience for chat and private messaging and I’m going to guess that Nostr now has more users than Urbit I don’t see myself investing any more time into Urbit.

Damus web might support NIP-5 but the IOS app doesn’t. Damus web was shut down by @jb55, some one was trying to steal private keys.
