Technically, you can't post videos on Nostr, that I am aware of. The relays won't hold that kind of data.

You can post links to videos that many clients display inline. Therefore, the biggest video you can post depends entirely on where you are hosting it, not on Nostr itself as a protocol.

Check out

https://satellite.earth/cdn They are offering very cheap rates for hosting large amounts of data.

"Are You Looking Forward to the Mark of the Beast?

If you believe God is in control of all events, of all the rulers in this world, then there is no need to worry regardless of your eschatological beliefs. I believe as many do that God is sovereign. That is, nothing happens outside of His will.

Satan, the prince of the air, rules through the kingdoms of men. But Satan is not omniscient or omnipotent. Only God has those qualities. Satan is a powerless punk by comparison to the Creator God of the universe. Nothing Satan does is outside God’s will, whether it is revealed or secret. Nor can it be.

God uses the evil ones like Satan and his followers to accomplish His will. God says:

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Isaiah 45:7

This verse does not mean God created the evil but that He created the people or angels who embrace evil. It means He created the agents, that with free will, who choose to do evil deeds. But God sees all things in space and time. He is omniscient. So He uses these evil characters to achieve His own will. That is especially true of Satan, who was once Lucifer the light bearer, the top angel in heaven.

Jesus is coming back to the world soon and it will not be as a “suffering servant” (Isaiah 53, 1 Peter 2:21–25) but as the “lion of the tribe of Judah” (Revelation 5:5). When exactly that is going to happen we do not know. But the scene is set in Revelation 13:

And he [the false prophet] causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six [666].

Revelation 13:16-18

Very rapidly that beast system is being put in place with digital IDs, digital currencies, and mass surveillance systems. Once they have that in place it will be very difficult to enter into a store to buy food. Some stores are already doing this where customers must sign in with a digital/biometric ID and pay with their credit card or digital cashless wallet.

So if Revelation chapter 13 and 14 is anything to go by, I say “bring it on”! The sooner the better. Revelation 14:1 tells us the Lamb of God stands on Mount Zion the heavenly city and calls His children who are sealed with God’s mark in their foreheads. Verse 14:3-5 tells us the redeemed, those who are “virgins”, meaning not defiled with the profane world, will be taken to God’s throne in heaven. This is another description of the resurrection of the believers.

So, I say, bring it on. The sooner Satan does his thing and brings in total control and mark of the beast (which is God’s will), the sooner the redeemed will fly."

There's a reason the book of Revelation ends with:

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20)

It is meant to be something we look forward to.

Saw that my Twitter app had updated to the new X branding. Immediately uninstalled.

Zaps are sats, yes. 100 million sats = 1 Bitcoin

What is done cannot be undone on Nostr. Due to the nature of everything propagating out to multiple relays, deleting anything is inconsistent at best. You can request deletion, but it may or may not be done on all the relays it was posted to.

Anything the badge creator wants. It's just a nice way to recognize a fellow Nostrich for something. Some show that the user belongs to an exclusive group. Others that they are a founding member of some relay or service. Others just because someone wanted to make a cool design and hand it out to anyone that wanted it.

I don't think we will see a YouTube replacement built on top of Nostr. Videos are simply to large to be shared among relays. It would more likely be a centralized replacement for hosting the videos themselves, or even several centralized hosting services, with Nostr integrated for sharing and discovery.

I have found that when I initially paste it in the search, nothing comes up, but if I go to the beginning and erase the "n" in "npub", then manually type it in again, it often works.

#Amethyst by a mile. Plebstr isn't bad, but nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z seems to be on a mission to make his client the most robust available on any platform, not just Android.

I used this guide a couple days ago to set up mine. Worked perfectly.

One of my favorite features of #Amethyst is the ability to view a feed from a list of npubs set up on Highlighter or Listr.

Are there any desktop clients or webapps with this feature?

My first stream on Nostr last night was a lot of fun, even if it was just a couple other folks from Sovereign Craft who popped in and watched.

Not sure how often I will have a chance to stream, but I will try and make it a habit at least every Monday evening. If you are around at 7pm Pacific, come check it out and see how Bitcoin can be integrated into a Minecraft server economy.

Is there a way to see how many people are watching your stream on zap.stream ?
