Neither is necessarily the case. Moreover, even if the client is doing absolutely everything locally, it doesn't mean I as the user have any idea how it works under the hood. There's just as much trust involved either way.

I see you in my feed plenty. 🙂

If people are following you, then you are in their web-of-trust, so you should still show up in their feed. If they aren't following you, then you probably didn't show up in their feed before, either.

What gets weeded out via web-of-trust is all the spam, unless someone who is already inside the web-of-trust follows a spammer. Unfortunately, that also means new legitimate users are weeded out, unless someone inside the web-of-trust can essentially "sponsor" them, by following them. It makes it so you have to already know someone on Nostr to effectively onboard.

At their core, relays are actually a pretty straightforward concept, it's just completely different from what we are used to.

Relays are just servers where data is stored that the apps on our devices can fetch and display for us.

It's just that we are used to there only being one server that we all connect to for a given platform, and the entity controlling the server is the same entity producing the app to fetch the data on that server. No one could imagine being able to spin up their own Facebook server, for instance.

With Nostr, there is no limit to the number of servers, and anyone who wants to can even run their own. Moreover, anyone can create apps that fetch data from those servers and display it. The servers and apps just need to be able to understand each other by all speaking the same Nostr language or protocol.

We plebs round here, so omelets.

Yeah, it's got a lot of options and can have multiple lists for different types of links you may want to promote.

The tools being built on Nostr are incredible...

Eh, yes and no. Everyone's web-of-trust is different, containing different npubs.

Where a lot of them overlap might be considered the popular table, though.

Happy Lord's day, Nostriches.

Great job in the interview!

I see you are using linktree n your profile. Did you know we have our own version on Nostr? Check out nostree.me

Eh, I'll take "created in the image of God" and call it more than enough.

I'll also take "sinner saved by grace alone" to keep me humble.

There's only 21m #Bitcoin and ~8b people. Given that, 262k sats is your "fair share". We'll call that a medium amount of Bitcoin. Anything of double that amount or larger is a large amount of Bitcoin, and half of that or less is a small amount of Bitcoin.

Man, I really need to start re-reading before I post...

It's still there in the #AlbyHub app store. Source: Currently running v1.8.0.

It's crazy to think about just how powerful #NostrWalletConnect can be. Example of the day:

I just used NWC from #Minibits running on one phone to connect an Alby Go wallet running on a completely different device in order to have a unified balance on both devices. Of course, this only works if the host device is always on and connected to the internet.

Wonder if Minibits has ever considered a nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll or nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct version...

I do, but I don't use it in a stand-alone way. I already had a #Lightning node running on a @Start9 with several payment channels already set up and ready to go. So my Alby Hub installation is just using my existing node's liquidity and providing the means to easily have a Lightning address, set up #NostrWalletConnect to ALL THE THINGS, and get my family members set up with their own (custodial) wallets on my node.

Using #AlbyHub, I can be my family's Lightning bank, so they don't have to bother with knowing how liquidity works whatsoever. This, of course, means I could rug them at any time, but I would have to be a real POS husband and father to rug my own wife and kids.

You could probably get something like this using Coracle.social custom feeds.

nostr:nprofile1qqsf03c2gsmx5ef4c9zmxvlew04gdh7u94afnknp33qvv3c94kvwxgspr3mhxue69uhksmmyd33x7epwvdhhyctrd3jjuar0dak8xtcpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszxnhwden5te0wpuhyctdd9jzuenfv96x5ctx9e3k7mf0ss9zgs any ideas for this?

Instinctively, I would do a filter with the base feed type of "People," and just choose "Network" with all other authors deselected.

You can further narrow them down by topics you are interested in, if you like, by adding another filter parameter.

Now, this isn't going to display a list of npubs. Instead it's going to give you a feed of posts from only npubs that the people you follow are also following, but without any of your current followers' posts showing up.

The higher the web-of-trust score for those whose posts you are seeing, the more of the npubs you follow who have also followed them, and have not muted them.

Not ready for sats to get more expensive yet...

Updated to nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm Hub v1.8.0 on my nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll and tried out the Friends and Family app for setting up #Lightning wallets and HOLY COW!

I thought being an Uncle Jim was easy with Alby Hub before!

No excuses, folks! If you know how to manage liquidity on your node, and you have friends and family you want to show just how magical #Bitcoin on Lightning can be, Alby Hub is the answer until you have a big enough local Bitcoin community of folks you trust to set up a fedimint.

I actually don't think "deleting" your account is even possible on Nostr. Npubs aren't created, they are discovered. Once they have been discovered, anyone can tag them indefinitely, even if the user with the nsec never logs in again.

Have we figured out how to game Primal's algo for making it to the top of that trending feed? Is it just overall engagement, such as reactions, comments, boosts and zaps? Do we know if there is any weighting involved, such as zaps being higher signal?

Would it be some sort of weighted probability? Newer npubs assumed more likely to be bots than human? More frequent posting = more likely to be a bot?

Not sure what you mean about using chatgpt personal tool.
