Bitcoin can't fix fiat-brain, but I think it's a big part of a potential future fix
Zuckerberg: “I think the goal that we went into it with wasn’t to make an online community, but sort of like a mirror for the real community that exists in real life.”

I was just thinking about this as I saw a post from nostr:npub1r0rs5q2gk0e3dk3nlc7gnu378ec6cnlenqp8a3cjhyzu6f8k5sgs4sq9ac who was talking about the ups and downs of a UX design giving people "trust scores": Social media should be a testing ground or a staging area for political action.
Social media (that is free and open and principled) has so much potential to develop or improve social interactions and has the advantage of being a wholly artificial system which can be completely disconnected from physical reality. That said, obviously there is overlap in infrastructure and of course the human elements of the system, which means that social media can have massive impact on "the real world" as well, which we have obviously already seen to a certain degree over the past 15 years or so.
The problem, from my view, is the negative feedback from history, politics, and economics in "the real world" into social media which has been simplified and weaponised against the revolutionary potential of the system, and this is why projects like nostr and bitcoin with a principled user base need to reject appropriation by all institutions, namely governments and corporations.
Zuck the cuck sold out first chance he got and is now just another tyrant vying to accumulate more undue wealth and power.
That's not terrible at all. My rule is to never by them on sale and/or with a preponderance of dark spots because they will most likely be borderline inedible.

Welcome CCP shills to nostr.
Zap me 200K sats to denounce this image. Thank you.
Twitter: governed by the principles of cannibalistic capitalism and dead internet theory.
Nostr: governed by the principles of materialism, value for value, and live Bitcoin theory.
...he said to pretty much no one, except maybe a few people who agree and scroll past with maybe the slightest internal assent.
But hey, at least I'm not feeding bots. 🤖
someone says "we need more non-Bitcoin content", I hear "my brain is more Swiss cheese than RFK's"
I agree that it's a very interesting idea, and seemingly has a lot of potential, but if the discussion in this thread is anything to go by, has some pretty obvious limitations: politics.
There's no technological cure for politics because its limits are inherent, just like capitalism can't reform itself and stop destroying itself, humanity, and the natural world; the inherent logic of the system is the limitation of the system.
The question then is, can a community exist free from politics, hierarchical structures, and class warfare, and if so, then can it avoid becoming a cartel/political party, and eventually a state?
Game theory says no, and history is absolutely littered with negative evidence, but given the right incentives could it be possible? I would lean towards no, but you gotta have hope I guess.
Hi, we'll be your lab rats. Feel free to feed us some cheese, hint hint, wink wink...
You underestimate the obstinacy of the fiat brain
people are fucking stupid, but this isn't news.
Imagine "investing" in a brick and mortar whose "moat" is its presence in shopping malls and whose "product" is stepped on by a million middle men before they try and offload it on consumers who could get the same thing by clicking their mouse a few times in the comfort of their own homes.
Clown world will eat itself, but its corpse is bloated as fuck.
a vast techno-ponzi enabled by VC and social media hype, enabled by the logic of fiat, unravels before our eyes, and I'm fucking here for it!
Fiat is literally the distortion of reality through language and abstraction, but materialism abides.
I'm from Canada but it's basically the same thing; it's the legacy of imperialism and colonialism.
You can't create a new country, let alone a new world, based on domination, depredation, and deprivation. Sure, at one time there were massive ecological surpluses that trickled down to the colony, but as those surpluses have fallen, the logic of domination has become more apparent and the ideology that excused it far less effective.
Makes you want to bite your tongue next time a "pro-Bitcoin" politician starts an affinity scam, huh anon?
Vote for principles, not politicians, or don't vote at all and act out of principle, but just know that there's no messiah coming down the pipe to redeem the world and save us all, least likely of all from those seeking political power.
Alternately: don't be a pedophile culture vulture who buys and pays for all his relationships so that anyone can buy your dirt and air it publicly
plenty of ways to "poison" images to counter data harvesting; just need to do the same in text.
Anti-CCP trolls and Chinese dissidents have become masters of this and other censorship-avoidance techniques.
Not that we want to constantly have to live in fear like the long-suffering Chinese people, but you gotta do what you gotta do when you live under a repressive regime.
UFC PPV viewers still get a dose of this every card. I look forward to it because I have pirated almost every card I've watched since 2007, so like I guess it applies to me and I should be afraid or something, but it's just a fuckin' stupid joke, especially coming from a morally bankrupt company like the UFC.
Whole lotta red today.
Drake dumped his bags to pay more ghostwriters to try and get back at Kendrick?
k.dot is BTC, drake is Solana, fuck the drama, but let's see some green mañana.
The oversimplification of language and thought is exactly what Orwell warned about, but his message was essentially appropriated by the propagandists on both sides of the cold war and thus grossly oversimplified.
We need to be able to hold two opposing ideas in mind in the face of political violence; principles over party.
The law will never allow this, so it must be disregarded. This is not a call to martyr oneself; give unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and be your own lord.
