I don't get why all of a sudden so many people close their lightning channel to my node. I had more than 50 channels a few weeks ago and now it's a little more than 30. Some of them closed their channel with fees as low as 9sat/vb. I hope they will get through at some time. #lightning #LightningNetwork #bitcoin #channel

Yeah it would just wait to come online before broadcasting to external relays.

The client still connects to external relays but only to feed notes into the local relay. So the local relay is acting like a multiplexing relay in some sense.

I am patching up my lightning channels this weekend.

Any recommendations/best practices to follow when opening a new channel? I know the bigger the better. But what’s the difference between opening channels with the monster nostr:npub1hcwcj72tlyk7thtyc8nq763vwrq5p2avnyeyrrlwxrzuvdl7j3usj4h9rq node vs something still routing payments, but smaller?

Are writing notes like making bitcoin transactions offline? They only broadcast when a connection appears?

Or is the relay somehow broadcasting?

Damus android with local relay on a $150 android phone. Not really optimized yet, but loads instantly and even works offline!

Idk who needs to hear this.

But it’s a great night to consolidate your UTXOs. Don’t know what that means?

Just send all your coins to a new address in your same wallet.

Do this when fees are low, so when mining fees are high your inputs are smaller which will decrease your fees.

And open a lightning channel ⚡️
