Well, it turns out #[0] was right. There are still trolls on Nostr. Just encountered two bigots who had to make themselves known in my thread about how I haven't blocked anyone here yet. Now I have. Cool. Good for you two. But what those fools don't understand is that I zap freely, and positive interactions get paid whereas trollish behavior gets you thrown into the void. They probably don't care because they have no actual value to provide, so probably won't get zapped much anyway. This is not the platform for them.
Could be. Another thing is that I think earning zaps means people are incentivized to provide value and not troll. What's the penalty to troll on Twitter? You may not get likes/retweets. But on Nostr, you won't get paid. Big difference. I just had someone use the N-word in this thread. My first block on here. What do they miss because of this? I won't zap them ever. And I like to zap, so they missed out on some zaps that they could have gotten if they just acted cool. 🤷♂️

The antisemitism seems to run rampant on Twitter. It's sad. I hope it doesn't come here. Perhaps I've been lucky, but I haven't seen it here yet.
Just had to block someone on Twitter. Haven't had to do that yet on Nostr. It's amazing how much more positive interactions here are. You don't get these types of people here. ☝️

It's amazing how much cooler Twitter is than Facebook. But what's even more stark is how much cooler Nostr is than Twitter. I was skeptical back in December when I first got started. But once I got my Lightning wallet set up, it's been a zap fest ever since and that's what's cool about Nostr. I get real pleasure in rewarding great posts with a zap. And I'm humbled when someone thinks what I have to say is worthy of parting with some sats. Stay golden, Nostr!
