Once nostr:npub1zach44xjpc4yyhx6pgse2cj2pf98838kja03dv2e8ly8lfr094vqvm5dy5 has attendance and ticketing working for Flockstr, there will be no good reason any Nostrich or Bitcoiner should continue to use Meetup or FB Events.

There's still the aspect of discoverability on Meetup. But even that they don't do very well, and they screw up everything else.

Nostr-native app seamlessly integrated onto the ecosystem can provide many value adds.

My pain points with Meetup:

- many basic functions are hidden behind the login-wall

- they provide my email to the event/group organizer without possibility to opt out

- they keep shotgun-deleting my email alias registration attempts

- their search interface and search results are an absolute horror; especially on the web. The default relevance sort is a matter for itself ("Bitcoin - Austin" -> first 8 results are for "austin crypto meetup" with barely any attendance)

- notification spam about events I never showed any interest in

- conversations and connections are buried in the silo

- streams (zaps, media sharing, tickets e-commerce, ... anything...) aren't natively supported

So from an outsider pow, it's the classic low hanging fruit. 2 weeks till Flockstr obsoletes them.

The weather couldn't be better.

The Atlas Shrugged metaphors ringed strong when thinking about the #nostrville last panel.

- nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx talking about opting out of his Twitter influence moat, leaving it behind, and not turning back.

- nostr:npub1tvqc82mv8cezhax5r34n4muc2c4pgjz8kaye2smj032nngg52clq0rkrq4 about his motivation for coming to build the new world for his kids.

It paired up extremely well with Jeff Booth speaking to me on the pod, going like a broken record about impossibility of fixing the broken system from inside of the system.

- it really clicked this time!

- Is Satoshi the John Galt coming for the men of the mind one by one?

- Did he got an army of ostriches to help him expedite the process?

The metaphor isn't new in the space, but nostr gives it new strength.

What's up with the wording?

- "...termination of your account with our banking and custodial partners."

- it might be bad wording, but it doesn't say termination of the "swan accounts".

Are they saying that the banks/custodians will start shutting the accounts (ie bank accounts) of the specific people associated with specific Swan transactions?

How does the "partner" identify these specific people out of its all clients engaging with Swan?

I've never seen such centrally placed fireplace before. It makes so much sense!
