₿ a threat through good works Bitcoin Purists OnlyZaps Activate!

Seven hours into #onlyzaps on #nostr and the like-button-withdrawal is palatable.

Choosing between zapping or replying for good posts becomes “spend time or spend money to show you like it, or make peace with leaving a good soldier behind”

I'll be making some posts on philosophy, political science and economics here. Because... Well, because I do whatever the fuck I want...

My intent is to help level up the intellectual sphere around #Bitcoin, #Nostr and #Libertarianism in general, so join in and buckle up, mother fuckers, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

The great brazilian philosopher Olavo de Carvalho once said that the Catholic social and economic thought should engage in conversation with the austrian school, because both had much to gain from each other. In fact that is what I have been seeing in my studies, and this goes waaay beyond economics alone. But both spheres seem to be closed to each other, so we must construct a bridge. The catholics are in a crises right now, family problems, you know. And they are tending to slip now to socialism, now to fascism. There has been a difficulty in understanding the problem of the modern state, the financial system, and the globalists movements (more on these some other time) even though these are in complete opposition to Catholic traditional social teachings. This has sometimes pushed people away from bitcoin and the fight for freedom.

On the other hand, the average libertarian tends to indulge (knowingly or not) in the errors of modern philosophy. And modern philosophy has no shortage of civilization wrecking problems. For real. By embracing modernity, they tend to not see that some of their ideas are root causes of the current state of things in the first place.

And like this, we have two sides that can't manage to get their shit together because they don't want to enter in a serious intellectual dialogue in search of truth. Not only don't want to, but are not able to because of their closemindedness.

Side note, you non-brazilians should look up #OlavodeCarvalho. The man was a giant of our times. There is some content in english, but hell, maybe you can do your part and find ways to translate and publish more stuff.

Now if you'll excuse me, there are beers to be drank, for it is the friday night. See yall later, nosterers.

Cheers🍻

Enabled, thanks! But what I was hoping for was the functionality like the zap, where you cannot zap a note if the zaps aren’t enabled for the poster.

If only there were a way to remove the like button on #damus in the same way one can reinstall the #zap button.

You’ve saved me from a purchase of @daylightco ’s product I would have regretted

What the fuck nostr:npub1a00wj229auzjswlq4s77y4u8eqdx5k9ppatgl8rtv8va65f6mwksum9q3h ? Are you out of your minds? If you're going to "collect my reading activity and personal notes", at least end-to-end encrypt them and don't harvest them for targeted advertising.

There is absolutely no way I'll be continuing to use you "Reader" software in this context, and you can be sure that if you release a custom OS that has this level of privacy invasion I will not be using it. If that means I can't use the hardware either, then so be it.

This is coming from someone who said the hardware is completely revolutionary and life-changing.

At least they were somewhat up front about it on their #nostr profile:

“You are being fiat farmed by Big Tech”

#bitcoin clearly sets corporate treasury risk measurement.

Imagine three identical companies, one that holds its bitcoin, a second that lends its bitcoin for return, and a third that converts and reinvests all profits back into its business operations.

You could say that the last is a growing company with better returns than #bitcoin

The first is plateauing in growth terms

The middle company that lends it bitcoin is risk-taking in a separate industry and should be measured as such

Is there an insta-buy button using zaps in nostr, where someone posts something with an invoice, my delivery address is pre-populated in my “wallet” or in #damus with my information and when I see a post with something I like for sale I click the invoice, send the requisite zaps and the products on its way?

Wait a sec., nevermind. Bad idea.

Ever wanted to play with QR codes in a spreadsheet and not download anything or send your data to the internet? Now you can.

I added an #excel #spreadsheet to do a version 15 QR code generation, all error correction levels. (77x77 pixels)

Everything is done inside the spreadsheet and totally transparent—data arrangement, error correction calculations, everything.

No add-ins, no macros, no array formulas. The spreadsheet doesn’t send your data anywhere.

Have fun with it, break it, let me know if you do. My next mod to the spreadsheet is to have it produce all QR code versions; the basics are already in the spreadsheet so hopefully it isn’t too much more work.

Just throwing this out there
