nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe hey! Is your X account hacked?
Thanks for the feedback.
I have run Lightning-nodes on Raspberry Pi in the past. I would not recommend it at all. Listen to NVK.
Raspberry Pi was once upon a time relatively cheap. Now it’s expensive compared:
- to hardware that is a lot better hardware and chips from other vendors than Broadcom
- which is open source, instead of close source - with better redundancy (with Proxmox)
- for a cheaper price
Raspberry Pi has its use cases. Lightning nodes, with real hard money, with absolute scarcity, on a hot wallet, is not one of them.
From the other side, Seedsigner does use Raspberry Pi. But it’s not a Lightning node.
“A custom linux based operating system built to manage software running on airgapped Bitcoin signing device. SeedSigner is both the project name and application running on airgapped hardware. This custom operating system, like all operating systems, manages the hardware resources and provides them to the application code. It's currently designed to run on common Raspberry Pi hardware with accessories. The goal of SeedSigner OS is to provide an easy, fast, and secure way to build microSD card image to securely run SeedSigner code.”

What if it’s not a lightning node, but a Bitcoin node?

1) some very trusted bitcoiners I know have used a raspberry pi for years without any issues. I suppose it depends how tin foil hat we want to get. Still, I do get it… there are some valid points against it
2) I also wonder if all the same points still stand for the very new Raspberry Pi 5? Perhaps things are a bit different now?
Weeks? Months?
Is it possible to run nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll on a raspberry pi 5?
Me and nostr:npub1rznlzpg529u8j39a8qe7tapsygd54qp5qyr5jyue7whwpw79rsjqmzr4ly would highly recommend running a Bitcore Core node on StartOS from Start9. Then you can use Electrs with Sparrow Wallet from nostr:npub1hea99yd4xt5tjx8jmjvpfz2g5v7nurdqw7ydwst0ww6vw520prnq6fg9v2
You can buy so called “node in a box” from Start9.
Both the nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll Server One and Server Pro are literally awesome. Their customer service from the co-founders Matt Hill and Aiden McClelland is even better. I would characterize it as world class. I have personal experience. Thanks Aiden.
Both the Server One and Server Pro (former Server Pure) comes with 2 or 4 TB SSD.
The Start9 HP EliteDesk 800 G3 (Refurbished) also comes with 2 or 4 TB SSD.
If you’re into DIY I highly recommend this guide on “known good hardware”

But “Don’t trust. Verify”:
Is it possible to run @start9 on a raspberry pi 5?
I’ve been around long enough to see how it’s the conservatives that have the values that the liberals used to have. And the liberals have become everything the used to hate.
How is everyone enjoying the day? Don’t know about you, but pretty good vibes over here 😀
Well fellow Canadians, with the recent new laws in regard to online censorship, Nostr just might be the last free place we’ll have https://youtube.com/shorts/-r8XUbu2XIY?si=iD3sfCv6TXjQSflB
I have no idea what this is, but damn does it look cool!
I listened to one on fountain yesterday while I was mudding and taping drywall, and I enjoyed it. It opened up my eyes to projects like zap.stream - I want to discover more like that! So, thank you!
my daughter knows how to read this and tells me the sounds into characters are accurate.
I guess the big leap of faith here is the second part... converting to English-like characters .
Honestly , I think this actually has a really good chance of potentially being true. I mean, it's plausible! He was a cryptographer after all... this could be one clever way of having some fun.
wait, you can get Damus on macOS?
what kind of bullshit is this? where is this from?
