I used gparted to shrink a Windows partition in preparation to use CloneZilla to migrate the installation to an nvme SSD.

Forgot to run chkdsk from Windows after gparted and before CloneZilla, so my clone failed. I've done this before, as it is an easy to forget step.

Been listening to some podcasts featuring Aaron R. Day. Thought provoking.

Some great info in this one about the Hijacking Bitcoin topic:

True. This is a Dell all-in-one. It came apart a lot easier than some other all-in-one models.

Current Status: watching a computer disassembly video.

It was a big boost!

I think Windows 11 on a slow hard drive was nearly unusable. On top of that BitLocker encryption had been turned on, which I think gives another significant performance hit.

Now is much better with the SSD and BitLocker not enabled (on an SSD, it probably wouldn't make as noticeable of a difference).

I'm upgrading a Dell Vostro 14 laptop.

Replaced the extremely slow 1TB hard drive drive with a Samsung EVO 250GB SATA SSD. Doubled the memory from 8GB to 16GB by adding an additional 8GB memory module in the empty slot, so now it will benefit from dual-channel memory, too.

I should use your scripts to try #i3wm. I've used several other tiling Window managers, but I haven't tried i3 yet.

I'm guessing that you like it based on your posts and screenshots.

I set up a battery backup for my router and servers, took me a while to get all in place. After I did, the power hasn't gone out since.

Just watched this:

So what are people going to do about it?
