Oh shoot. I forgot. This whole nostr movement might be a good opportunity to fix one of the main issues with all social media - how they force unidimensionality on everyone.

Basically, me (and all of us) are multidimensional human beings. I'm not *just* a developer or Bitcoin maxi, etc. There is more to me than that, that I'd like to share. But most people will not be interested in other aspects of me. They might want to see only technical posts etc. And then stop following me, as I produce posts they don't care about.

This forces everyone that wants to have any reach to be... just a one-topic pony. You only post about one area. Sure you could have multiple IDs, but that's not very practical.

I wish that users could have "personas" and select persona to post to when posting stuff, and then be able to follow only subset of personas of people they want to follow. Sure, I love your technical posts, but don't want to see your stupid political opinions (and vice versa, I guess), or I don't care about your hiking trips, or taste in cars, etc. If you could post your technical content under "dev" persona, I could follow that and I wouldn't have to unfollow you altogether.

In my personal experience, I’ve met many men who are censorious and @jack isn’t one of them, have you seen what I post about me and him lol. If he was censorious, how did I do this?

The bad news: Twitter's insanely puritan algorithm just massively deboosted my tweets because I posted a baby picture.

The good news: nostr still works just fine.

The reason why people can’t move on is because they don’t understand how Jack allowed it to happen. He may not be censorious, but he allowed it. Whether he’s a pushover, a people pleaser, non confrontational, complacent, woke, it doesn’t matter. He allowed it. One of my favorite quotes is “You teach people how to treat you by what you allow, what you stop and what you reinforce.” I personally don’t care about this anymore. However, not all of us have realized that the past can’t be changed and there’s no reason to resurrect the past because it only brings negativity which keeps one in a negative, unconscious loop. Forgive the past, be present and hope for the future. It happened, he seems to have learned from his mistake and it’s time to move on.

I think a lot of people don’t understand how public businesses are structured with different classes of stocks and board of directors.

I have been to China. Many times. It is filled with great, working people. Who are subjugated by an authoritarian and increasingly totalitarian regime. Who, among other things, is engaged in an ethnic genocide in Xinjiang. It is also preparing for an invasion of Taiwan -- a free nation with a functioning democracy.

This has nothing to do with the USA. I can criticize China on its own merits.

Some predicable replies here, generally following the official US propaganda line on China.

As someone who has lived in China and visited many times over the years, I can tell you it's not the way it's portrayed in the west.

Casting it in a "warmongering" light is a form of projection, when it's actually the USA that is threatening China.

No country is perfect, but lack of understanding of China's cultural history, fear of the 'other', and ignoring the fact that the majority of Chinese people support the CCP, is not the way to foster better relations.

My advice, to those who trash China, is to visit the country yourself. You will be very surprised by what you learn and see there.
