According to a release from the Finnish Air Force, two U.S. Air Force (USAF) B-52H strategic bombers conducted joint exercises with Finnish Air Force F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets and dropped Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) on targets at the Rovajärvi firing range in Finland. According to NBC News, U.S. President Donald J. Trump has discussed recently with aides, the possibility of major changes to the United States’ participation within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which could include a prioritization on engagement for member states that spend a certain percentage of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP), between 2-5%, on defense. Trump Administration Officials have stated that as part of this policy shift, the U.S. may not come to the defense of or hold military exercises with a fellow NATO member, if the country does not meet a specific defense spending threshold.
Amidst the ongoing operations in the Latakia Governorate, an agglomeration of pro-Assad regime and Iran-backed insurgent groups is now calling itself the Military Council for the Liberation of Syria. They are also reportedly led by Ghaith Suleiman Dala, who is the former commander of the now defunct Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Division. This would not be the first such group, but appears to be the most prominent at the time.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has announced in a post on Truth Social, that after speaking with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum he has agreed to a one-month delay on tariffs for all goods covered under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), which includes most if not all Mexican imports into the United States. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has stated that a one-month delay for the tariffs on Canada is likely to also be announced soon.
After Lavrov compared Macron to Hitler and Napoleon, Putin also likened the French president to the former French dictator, saying:

These statements are linked to Macron's recent stance, in which he classified Russia as the greatest threat to Europe and placed the French nuclear arsenal at the service of European nuclear deterrence. This means that a nuclear attack against a European country would be met with a nuclear response from France.
However, from a historical perspective, Lavrov and Putin's comparisons do not make sense, as Napoleon and Hitler invaded Russia, whereas Macron has outlined plans for precisely the opposite: strengthening Europe's defense against Russian invasions.
According to Barak Ravid of Axios, citing sources with knowledge on the matter, U.S. and Ukrainian decision-makers are set to meet in Saudi Arabia mid-next week to hold a meeting. White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz is confirmed to be meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak. Additional reports also indicate that White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio will also be in attendance.
