He announced that Lithuania plans to invest up to 6% of its GDP in defense and thanked the European Council for the ReArm Europe program, which will enable up to €800 billion in investments in weapons and military equipment across Europe.
Lithuania was under Russian occupation for nearly 50 years. In 1991, as it sought independence, Russian forces moved in to crush the movement, resulting in many civilian casualties.

Russia reiterated today that it will not accept a European peacekeeping mission in Ukraine after a ceasefire agreement is signed.
Essentially, the Russians demand:

• The overthrow of Zelensky’s government,
• A rewrite of Ukraine’s constitution to permanently ban NATO membership,
• A prohibition on foreign arms shipments to Ukraine,
• The complete demilitarization of the country, and
• A ban on any peacekeeping mission that could hinder future Russian invasions.
Yesterday, Emmanuel Macron declared that France’s nuclear weapons would serve Europe’s “nuclear deterrence,” meaning that if Europe were attacked with nuclear weapons, France would retaliate in kind against the aggressor.
Today, Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, stated that France is a threat to Russia and called Macron the new Hitler and the new Napoleon. 
The Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) has announced that during a Joint-Exercise today with the U.S. Air Force, a KF-16 Multirole Fighter “accidentally dropped” at least 8 Mk-82 500lb Bombs on the Town of Dong-myeon in the Gyeonggi Province of South Korea, less than 12 Miles from the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and Border with North Korea. The Bombs destroyed several Homes and a nearby Church, causing at least 7 Injuries among Residents, including 4 that were considered Critical Injuries.
After a shell or missile impacted the Pocheon area in South Korea, Yonhap News has now said that it impacted in the middle of a street near the Nangyu Bridge in Nogok-ri, Dong-myeon, Pocheon-si. Only 7 minor injuries have been reported so far. 
After reports that a shell impacted the Pocheon area in South Korea and hit a house, South Korea’s MBC News is now reporting that 7 are injured in total. MBC News also mentioned that the incident may be the result of a “fighter jet misfire” during joint exercises with the United States. Citing U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s overhaul of the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees and its mission, “Hamilton” producer Jeffrey Seller has announced that the musical will no longer take place at the center as part of its 2026 lineup.
