SwissNode - ever wanted to be your own Swiss Bank?? Changing the world a node at a time. Join me in the revolution! PS Toxic spelling corrector. Be warned :)

wow - you should set up a system where you send some of those abroad!! People would pay even MORE sats to have great fruit sent to them. I guess you might have to keep it to local countries due to the fact they perish en route...

jack do you have a Lightning node? If so what's its alias?

Do you need help setting one up? If so I have a great Telegram group you're gonna love, but you DO have to pay via lightning to get in - can't just have the riff-raff entering! :D

I agree - and yet... i still slip back to Twitter - occasionally making offers that require viewers to reply to a Nostr note!

Guess you helped make Twitter so addictive, jack. Let's see if we can get people over to the only place to be!

GM Nostr!

Apparently saying this every day increases interactions!! Let's see! First ever GM post!

might want to moo-ve that thought elsewhere then...

I created more than 3 years ago a Telegram group and collected the best minds in and around Lightning: experts will help anyone on any topic from building a new node to balancing channels to finding reliable peers (and their node owners!) in order to open channels to great peers who you can communicate with.

One thing I did which worked well was to create a Lightning paywall to get into the channel to keep out the noise: the spammers and scammers and even those who vaguely like Lightning but don't contribute enough. It seems that when you pay hard sats to enter a group you use it wisely and don't squander the experience with shitposts lol

Not only that but for every 50 members that entered I would increase the entry price by 30% to reflect the fact that the value of the network had increased - "reassuringly expensive" as Stella Artois once put it in the 1990s!

The current price is 6506 sats, but I am prepared to drop this to 500 sats for the first 5 people who reply to this post with "I want a slice of the magic" (proof-of-reading-entire post lol)

My side channel is free to enter where we discuss some OTs - some around Bitcoin, some not. Feel free to drop in at

The gateway to the group itself is to be found at

if you are an incluencer then you can probably influence ;)

Stay on Twitter, but every so often post a screen shot of something "cool" that you are only posting to Nostr with a quick explanation how to sign up to Nostr.

"Be the change that you want to happen..."

get on the list before classes sell out! https://base58.school

bumped into your tag on github and for some bizarre reason that automatically gave you +2 points! :D

I used to be indecisive - now i'm just not sure...

thanks for the quick reply man! Great thoughts as ever.

I love the whole game theory aspect behind switching on and switching off mining equipment. The system seems to have the correct feedback loops in place to make it sustainable.

How much should we worry about the "green coefficient" behind the mining business? (Just wrote a quick note on the topic..)

So what should a Bitcoiner's view on "oil" be? Can't help but think that we get sidetracked with all the ESG rubbish.

It's a finite resource, generally not nice for the environment when it burns (let's forget the CO2 stuff for now...) and generally won't last forever, so we need to find alternatives. Correct?

So the conclusion is that "going green" is still the answer, with in a fiat world or a Bitcoin world. The only difference being that the irony is that burning a little oil to mine Bitcoin actually helps the green energy movement.

Have I missed something in my oversimplified view?

shouldn't there be a hashtag for that?

ok - i now fell down the ant rabbit-hole, or is that just an "ant-hill"?

Sooo many different anecdotal ways of killing ants, but indeed people seemed to be having success with cinnamon over and over again.

I would go for it! Keep us informed - for science's sake :D
