Value4Value is a monetisation model that improves the experience for consumers and content creators. @Odell and @MartyBent introduced me to this with Podcasting 2.0 and the @Fountain padcast app. Matt and Marty create the podcasts and release them for free, the Fountain app lets me stream and boost Sats directly to their Lightning nodes.
I get value from the podcasts and I give value back. It's a great idea and now we're seeing it on Nostr as people are Zapping value back to the note creators which is great. No need for ads here!
The lightning network and Nostr are amazing on their own but together they will be unstoppable. Just keep this Value4Value model in mind when you are creating new and exciting things in this space
I like what paid relay nostr.wine by #[4] & #[5] are doing to fight spam.
They aggregate notes and data from other relays into one feed, then filter it. I only see notes from people I follow and people they follow, perfect!
And they broadcast my notes to the main relays improving reach.
I now only have their 2 relays and my private relay as backup which makes it really simple
Just installed my private Nostr relay on my #[0] as a backup. Works well on my home network, talescale required to access it remotely

Thanks, I found that and signed up and removed the old relays. Works really well, the whole experience is way better.
I now get the idea of paid relays and see they are the way forward

I noticed that and speed was also a major problem. Have a look at the paid relay nostr.wine. You could remove or at least drastically reduce the number of relays you need as they pull data from many relays for you. They also broadcast your posts to the main relays improving your reach. I’m trying them out now
