I started 2026 at 10:00 am and for 3 hours watched in abject horror as Texas Tech got shut out by Oregon in the Orange Bowl.

I suppose a younger me would allow that to set the tone for the entire year . . . over the outcome of a football game. I think too many people allow shit like this to affect their outlook.

All I can see is Texas Tech won 12 games for the first time in its history, won the Big 12 championship for the first time in it’s history, went to the CFP for the first time in its history, is a top 5 team for the first time in its history, and was given a first week “bye”.

That’s a lot of winning to throw under the bus because of a single loss.
