Mining is centralized and block template generation is almost 50% done by one entity (educated guess) and possibly thanks to nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze it hasn’t taken completely over 50%. We need more Ocean clones with transparent block template creation. And we need to price OOB tx out.
I would argue that it’s in the hands more of Bitmain and it’s many white labels.
You can buy through exchanges like Strike or Cash App or Fold, but also you can post your tits. Or both.

I had a question, and hear this from a perspective of me simply just trying to understand. Is there a definitive process to “declaring” ossification? Or is it something that just gradually happens over time? It would seem (based on my understand, or lack thereof) that the protocol will ossify naturally when it is ready to. Am I understand that correctly?

Just submit a transaction. It’s a fact that if you’re waiting on a tx to confirm, the block will not be mined for at least an hour.
What’s cool is that I know of at least 2 sites (timechain calendar and anlther one I forgot right off) that have something planned that will coincide with the block being mined. Which is the closest we’ll get unfortunately. The other site i’m gonna try to find but they have a whole visual presentation that they said could be used as like a DJ set visual. Looking forward to that one.
