Kevin has 19 rescue lions in his care, he respects they and knows them incredibly well. He has been an expert on lions for over 30 years, he no longer believes lions should interact with humans on this level.
Meet Bobcat! Bobcat is a veteran Male Lion. He has a very close bond with Kevin and is distinguishable by his distinctive Black Mane. He is in fabulous condition and looks far younger than his age. He currently is living at the Kevin Richardson Lion Sanctuary and has know Kevin since he was a cub therefore having a special bond. 🦁

Mara vet team attended to an injured lion in Maasai Mara-Simba area. The lion was sightedby Dileep of Osera camp. The lion had serious right and left flank injuries caused by a territorial fight and buffalo injuries. The wounds were cleaned and sutured Infected wounds were cleaned with water, hydrogen peroxide and iodine.
Antibiotics and antiinflamatories were administered. Topical antibiotic cream and spray was applied to facilitate healing. Monitoring of the lion continues and the prognosis is good.🙏🦁

Remembering the great warrior Slit-Lip, a prominent member of the powerful Inselberg coalition, who was almost certainly killed by the Bila-Shaka males in July 2022. This remarkable king succumbed to severe fighting injuries on his own territory, apparently being attacked by more than two rivals. It is thought that three of the Bila-Shaka males, Koshoke, Kiok and Kibogoyo were responsible for the attack, being seen before the fatal fight, occurred during night without direct witness, at only 500 meters away from the place where Slit-Lip finally rested.
