My best friend sleeps well beyond noon most days and seems to have no drive whatsoever to improve his situation. I hate being a spectator to this. Visited my dad yesterday. He asked me how my mom is doing since she's still on vacation in town so I had to explain to him what happened last week, where I just finally had enough of her sneaking her husband into situations to force interaction and I told her no more. She hasn't replied and probably won't talk to me for years; her decision so idc. My dad can get along with either or both of them in very short bursts as long as nobody gets aggressive and crazy which is a high risk. He and my mom went through a nasty divorce about 20 years ago and there used to be a lot of animosity that has died down over time. Regardless, my dad understands that my sister and I both hate our mom's husband and he knows the score.

So last Monday was the blowup between my mom and me. Hearing this, my dad has a long pause and then he says, "guess what I did for dinner on Tuesday (the following night)". I immediately start laughing. Turns out my mom invited my dad by text to meet "us" for dinner. My dad thought she meant me and her. My dad gets to the restaurant and finds my mom... then her husband shows up. He makes nice for like 15 minutes before asking her, "where is [mr bigot]?" She did to him more or less what she has done to me repeatedly so he understood my point. Very funny.

Long time thing. My parents divorced when I was a kid and my mom got with him shortly thereafter. He was always beneath her but I think she initially got with him out of desperation for a place to go plus maybe her options were limited given that we only lived in the area for about a year at the time and she couldn't admit defeat and move back to where she grew up. This guy verbally abused my sister and I when we were younger because he's a low IQ, insane alcoholic and a narcissist. He also used to steal from us and would steal incoming holiday gifts to redistribute to his kids from our extended family. When I worked my first job as a teen, he showed up and asked for my 1st check which was for some reason handed to him and I never saw it. He steals from my mom and didn't work for most of the time they've been together (she got injured on the job a few years ago and he started working around that time, my theory is they get along so poorly that her being home all the time meant he is better off out of the house). He's also cheated on her at least once that we're aware of. She knows it obviously. There's nothing to defend. I hope his drinking catches up to him and kills him soon.

Don't bother with Nine Sols. I'm not even finishing it. Every boss is way too hard and always 2-3 phases with retardedly punishing attacks. It's a waste of your time to bother learning all of these patterns just to progress. Don't believe me, just look up a video of someone beating the final boss. It's been a really long time since I quit a game because it was just too hard but it's happening today. Could I do it? Sure, but I'm not spending hours practicing this shit. I got to her phase 2 and that's enough for me. Seriously considering putting "souls-like" on my blocked tag list.
