A very long post on a #wikipedia editor. Ran across it randomly, would be way to long for my attention span but the audio version was an interesting listen (play button on the top of the article, length: 1:48:32).

My #blog post on the #foss #ladybird browser engine, the new #chromium / #firefox competitor in the making.
All I want to do is celebrate the fourth of July in the way the founding fathers intended. But these sheeple in government are getting on my nerves.
"Stop hurting those random British people"
"You're committing numerous war crimes"
"Oh my goodness, what have you done"
And other nonsense

Great selection of apps. Just as a heads up though the Pixel 5a is the oldest device still getting security updates and it will end in less then two months. Graphene does backport stuff for a bit but long term probably best to get a 6a or later.

Lol the one time California and Texas agree on something and it has to be this
The only way we can bandaid our crumbling infrastructure is paid for by ads. Totally not a bad omen
Not that any spam is good tho
Ok. Who wrote the bot experimenting with spmming / trolling bluesky via gateways on May 11th?

This shows that when we run Nostr services we need to think about spam controls. Kudos to nostr:npub108pv4cg5ag52nq082kd5leu9ffrn2gdg6g4xdwatn73y36uzplmq9uyev6 for having those on mostr.pub.
The TechCrunch coverage and headline implies it was all of Nostr doing it, which we know to be patently false. At the same time it paints Nostr in a bad light. As these new protocols grow and more money shows up, like the $150 million just raised by farcaster, we’ll see more of this stuff.
Wasn't the fediverse just nearly shutdown over a network wide spam attack a few weeks ago?
How did a fight over the politics of who leads NPR lead to arguments that Signal’s encryption is somehow suspect?

> pointing out that Signal’s code is open-source
All for a minor jab at Signal. Their servers are partially proprietary and technically could intercept your messages if you do not verify correct keys were swapped when adding someone.
But compared to Telegram? Lol. Signals a million miles above Telegram's encryption and trustworthiness.

"Innovation and privacy go hand in hand here at Mozilla. [Lol] [...] To improve Firefox based on your needs, understanding how users interact with essential functions like search is key. We’re ramping up our efforts to enhance search experience by developing new features like Firefox Suggest, which provides recommended online content that corresponds to queries. [...] To make sure that features like this work well, we need better insights on overall search activity"
Yup. #Firefox is now going to be tracking it's user's searches. Then they'll use that collected data to show you ads. Google does this the #privacy community loses their shit. It's not even the most privacy invasive thing #Mozilla is doing, just the latest.
If you haven't done it yet you may want to ditch Firefox. Use a fork like #librewolf or #fennec that actually respects your privacy.
