One thing that I have noticed using nostr over the past month is that notes aren’t able to go ‘viral’ without any sort of algorithm in place.
An important or popular note has its 15 minutes of fame at the top of the stack, but is then quickly buried below the most recent notes. The information quickly becomes hard to find if you weren’t online shortly after the note was posted.
I’m not commenting on whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, just an observation of mine

Try subscribing to a few paid relays and then turning off all of the other free relays in the global. The muddy waters clear up into a fairly decent feed
I just closed Damus app and flipped over to instagram and had a terrible realization…
It’s all well and good for the plebs on here to be begging for zaps, but I’m going to cringe when the multinational corporations finally put their two brain cells together to get on nostr and start asking for plebs to zap their posts
That may be so, but a zapping based hierarchy tied to real world, scarce money within social media will always be more fair and more inclusive than predatory algorithms that intentionally spread hate and divide it’s users.
