Had to give a "sysadmin" access to a server and I asked him for an ssh public key. He sent me a full blown key pair over email
I've created a teams account for a job interview (the recruiter asked to contact by chatting over teams, when I get sent a meeting URL I join as a guest from the browser) using a burner account.
A few days after the fact I got an email saying I * need * to set up one drive to keep my files safe. The predatory and scammy nature of Microsoft knows no bounds

In my time using nostr (amethyst client, default relays plus a couple chosen at random) I have not yet seen a single note with low effort engagement bait and thousands of interactions on my timeline.

In the face of enshittification, centralisation, regulation and censorship, it's the projects like nostr, and (a subset) of the crypto space that make me regain some sense of optimism in technological development.
