13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar was composed of Bosnian Muslims with some Catholic Croat soldiers.
They took an oath of allegiance to Adolf Hitler and Croatian leader Ante Pavelić.
Remnants of the division fought until May 8th, 1945.

With approximately 5000 thousand volunteers, it was formed on June 29, 1941 to help defend Europe against the Bolsheviks and Communism.
The division fought until the war ended.
