Bitcoin is money. Fiat is fiction. The overwhelming majority of people disagrees. They’re wrong.

I’ve had countless conversations over the past eight years about the superiority of Bitcoin as money. And an equal number about the melting ice cube that is government-issued money: fiat. Most people believe that if the government “backs” it, it must be better. This is an inversion of truth.

The government debases our money with “target inflation” (read: money printing) and profligate spending each and every year. Our purchasing power is reduced, our savings destroyed. But because we’ve been fed lies about inflation, consumer spending, and the healing power of GDP growth for so long, most people can’t see the truth.

Truth is the inevitable end of fiat money and its replacement by Bitcoin. Recognizing it requires taking “the orange pill.” Like most medicine, it’s bitter. But it undeniably beats dying from the disease.

That’s why soviet music often felt poetic and melancholic (splin). One of many reason I was pre supposed to find bitcoin at any point in life. That music gave me the introspection in my early twenties i needed to understand the concept of freedom🫠

The one thing stuck me most about bitcoiners: how did they get into this nerdy, kind of introvert, topic. I often refer to myself and think of why i got into it: always interested in science, but not tech-savvy, mathematical type of guy, instead a good listener, very frugal as a child already, discovered the bicycles to discover the stillness and beauty of our globe early on, always compared the euros I spent with the days I could travel by bike. That’s one part. The realization part came after covid hit. Lockdowns, curfews during the night (shocked me, mostly bc I love biketours and arriving in foreign places by night is a vibe I won’t miss), mandates, etc.

I always felt alienlike here and that our system is kind of broken but I didn’t came up with an undermined explanation. This time it felt like the government’s are losing control, so they’re fighting back. My intuition brought me here, mandates, lockdowns brought me here, the fear of loosing my freedom of cycling the world with 3€/day brought me here. I’m thankful for you guys. Now i know, with 12 words in my mind and the lightning network, it’s gonna be much easier to cycle the world.
