Chickens, Bitcoin, Sandy the orange rooster. Paper salesman.

Gm Nostr! Hope y’all have a happy Monday.

Jacked Factory creatine. Pure creatine, no additives or bullshit.

Good morning Nostr! Up and running around delivering today. Got a busy day of work, dinner with my gf and my first irl #bitcoin meetup tonight. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Hi! Got the strap from Sofie over at cnswatchbands.com

Takes a bit to get them shipped over, but the quality is really good for the price.

Truck repair complete. It was more $ than I thought it would be, but no credit card fee and I got sats back with my Gemini card 🙌🏼. So overall I’ll take it as a win. #bitcoin

Gm Nostr! Hope y’all have a great day today. Drinking my Americano this morning. Hopefully hear good news about my truck in the shop today, 🤞🏼 it’s not an expensive repair. #coffeechain

Got a generator and can hook it up to my house. Lost power for 6 days once and since I’m on a well, no water makes it miserable.

I have both a Bitaxe and an S9, so I can give you some insight here.

If you plan to use the heat generated by the S9, go that direction. If not, go with the Bitaxe. Yes, they are about the same price up-front, but the S9 is going to use WAY more power per TH than the Bitaxe. Efficiency is important, and it's why the Bitaxe doesn't cost 1/10 of the price of the S9, despite producing less than 1/10 of the hashrate.

An S9 can get you 13.5-14 TH of raw hashing power, but it's efficiency is only 0.1 joules per gigahash. Compare that to a Bitaxe Gamma, which is only about 1.2 TH, but does so at an efficiency of merely 0.01 joules per gigahash.

Then you have sound pollution to take into account when talking about home mining. The default fans on the S9 are LOUD. You will need to do something to mitigate that if you want to live peaceably with anyone else in your household. Even if you replace them with quieter fans, though, it's still pretty noticeably loud when running at full power. Most folks using S9s as space heaters are running them at half power, and they are not bad volume there, but then you are getting even worse efficiency and less overall hashrate.

Also, keep in mind that you probably aren't going to be profitable, even with a Bitaxe, unless you have really cheap power. Consider it a hobby and something you are doing to learn more about how Bitcoin works, and get some KYC sats at a bit of a premium cost. Of course, you might also go the lottery mining route, where you don't make any sats at all unless you are fortunate enough to find a block. That is always an option, too.

Thank you so much for this detailed response! I’m leaning toward pool mining. I don’t plan on making a profit, just more for a hobby, knowing full well I’ll have to pay a bit more for the kyc free sats. Do you like one miner over the other? Does the S9 have any software options that make it easy to underclock/run at full power like the Avalon miner does? I think it’s just braains os, but am unsure.

Gm Nostr! Up and at’ em this morning. Have really been considering a home miner. Would yall have any recommendations? Also, is it worth going with something smaller like a bit axe or the Canaan Avalon nano 3s. Or should I just go for an S9? Not much difference in price between the 3.

Thanks for the help! #asknostr #bitcoin

Gm everyone! Sandy and his hens say hi! Hope you all have a great Tuesday!
