My rss feed is my main source of info I care about.

I only see devs talk about RSS. Name one popular consumer product that relies on RSS for core functionality.

What if we had a different kind for dms where it’s called a subscription. When you click subscribe, you get messages into a subscriptions tab. Any time someone publishes something new, you get a “dm” in a subscription tab. That can then be styled to show content previews or something.

Just a thought.
