I could not read the article because of the pay wall, but we absolutely need to get rid of the penny. It surely must be worth less than the half cent was when we got rid of it. And Canada has already gotten rid of the penny, though their pennies were slightly more worthless than ours.

I’m honestly surprised that businesses haven’t started rounding to the nearest nickel on cash transactions to save time and keep the line moving.
