I've been using Iris/Snort for a while, but I'm considering trying out primal.net- thoughts?

You're running OPNSense? Nice. Been wanting to add a network card to a spare machine in my home and do the same thing, but haven't had the time. Stuck on OpenWRT for now

Well articulated, though I wish he emphasized some things more (particularly ensuring that whatever replaces fiat remains outside of the control of any one party, ideally through a return to hard money or something resembling it)

I wouldn't necessarily consider 75k/low 6 figs to be rich automatically (though the latter has the potential to become rich over time) but I think it'd be better to reframe it as presence of the domesticated/white-collar middle class. The type of people who had a cushy upbringing and went the traditional route (going through uni and then getting a desk job at a large corpo) in life without questioning the world around them.

I don't mean to be overly harsh in my description- I come from a similar background myself

Seconded, though i2p tends to work over Tor on my setup. Worth noting that my setup is kinda exotic (Whonix on Qubes)

We had an unfortunate boating accident on our morning run at the nostr:npub1ftw5mdhk9c2zcsc7fzs0vxydxtdqs8jfj2va5egz05hemsm50saqgr8wjt, all the Bitcoiners on the run were carrying their hardware wallets and back up paper with them and it's all gone.

None of us have any BTC left.

This joke is just a LARP as long as you're using BTC & not Monero

I've started, will create a GitHub repository once the general structure of the codebase has been laid out inshaAllah

I look forward to seeing more Palestinian brothers on the protocol!

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by Monero attempting to be something more than money akhi. In being anonymous, it seeks to fulfill the biggest requirement that any true cash-replacement needs to meet: fungibility. BTC struggles with this, and available tech to combat it has its own issues that you are no doubt aware of.

There's other ways in which I believe Monero to be better than Bitcoin, but let's focus on fungibility here. Is there any way that Bitcoin tackles this issue without major drawbacks? And even if there is, is optional privacy really what you want from a cash replacement? Fungibility should never be opt-in, it should be the default

Rasulullah ﷺ once said that the ruler who shaves [gold/silver] coins is a tyrant. Fiat is that ancient practice taken to an unfathomable extreme

Yeah :(. They did publish a document containing some guarantees, and it has put my mind at ease for the time being. I am still keeping an eye out for any news on who will by acquiring Odysee, though.

Today's a sad day for the decentralized web. LBRY Inc. is dead.

I'm going to begin writing a nostr relay for fun soon inshaAllah

A return to hard money is ideal. Cryptocurrency is the closest digital thing we have to hard money.
