OK Plebs, I have to confess...

I'm bummed!😐

Here's what's happening...

The annual bitcoin conference, bitcoin2024, is in Nashville this year. They're running a contest for original songs to be pressed on the "Bitcoin Record." As I best understand it, the twenty-one songs that are upvoted the most on Wavlake ("21 CROWD-SOURCED FINALISTS") and curated by contest judges will make it onto the record: https://b.tc/conference/2024/bitcoin-record

So why am I bummed?🤔🧐

I guess I assumed that "The Bitcoin Record" would be about bitcoin. I wrote a ballad about bitcoin, an homage to the genius of Satoshi Nakamoto, and submitted it to the contest. Thanks to the generosity of those who have Zapped it, "Asymmetric Liberty" is ranked #40 as I write this appeal.

Believe me, I have no delusions about being a great musician or artist, but at least three nostriches who've listened to the song say I have a bit of a Johnny Cash vibe...😜🤣

That aside, what I find disturbing is that--of the top-voted tracks ahead of me--only maybe 10-20% have anything to do with bitcoin!😳 Sure, there's some really nice music in the running, and the songs that mention bitcoin are good, but so many of the entries have nothing at all to do with bitcoin...😮

I'd love to be on the record, simply because I think the lyrics of my song (you can read them below) have some important things to say about this utterly amazing, world-changing invention...💖😁

So I'm appealing to my fellow #plebs, #bitcoiners, #frens, and #nostriches; if you agree with me that the "Bitcoin Record" probably ought to be mostly about bitcoin; Would you please consider listening to my entry, or at least reading the lyrics? And--if you like it--tagging "Asymmetric Liberty" with a few sats to help it rise in the contest ranking?🙏🏻
