Not cheap, but not super pricey...
I'm running a fully loaded Start One from the Start9 people.
So far so good; small, quiet, unobtrusive...
I haven't actually measured the power draw yet, though I suspect it's pretty reasonable?
Thank you, Fren.ππ»ππ
I actually follow nostr:nprofile1qqs0nt9skq6vfsgh06v979rrnuchau87mmnk2lqxpv2xaeusqfp30mqpzamhxue69uhky6t5vdhkjmn9wgh8xmmrd9skctcpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctc9ad278, but I'm following so many good accounts that I'm drowning in signal!π

P.S. I'm planning on spinning up a "Core Lightning 24.05.0" node on my server, and would sure appreciate any guidance from OG hands.ππ»πππ
I'm at a similar juncture...
Anyone have references to any good, hand-holding "Here's how to get started running your very first bitcoin lightning node" writeups?π€π§ππ»π«ββ
The Fountain podcast app is corrupt bullshit
It's NOT "Powered by the Bitcoin Lightning Network"
It's a custodial bank account, closed source app, hosted on Amazon, with Gmail verification, letting you insert an RSS feed to one government domain.
Unlike the Arweave RSS system I presented yesterday,
Which is true and genuine freedom and censorship resistance by transcending physical locations with the files served on a 30+ gateway global CDN, going directly peer-to-peer,
With Fountain, you're putting your private Nostr key in a closed source mobile app, served to you by the censorship oppressors Google and Apple. They use the word "open" on their website, but their github doesn't have the code itself: https://github.com/fountain-fm
You think you're using peer-to-peer Bitcoin? It's a custodial bank account.
Look at this bullshit:
"Fountain charges a 4% transaction fee on top of every payment you make to a podcast but you can join Fountain Premium to reduce your fees to just 1%. We also charge 10 sats for comments and replies to reduce spam."
In Summary:
--Not Bitcoin, it's a bank account.
--Zero Censorship Resistance, Regular Files
--Insert Private Nostr key into closed source
--Heavy integration with Big Tech
--Surveillance of who is listening
--Leeching Bitcoin fees for RSS feeds and Nostr, which are both peer-to-peer without Fountain
You're being manipulated to reject real solutions like Arweave RSS, so these institutions can maintain power and control.
Tried to ZAP you, but it's failing for reasons I don't understand...
Can you redeem Cashu eCash?π€

I love tools; you've created a beautifully functional collection supporting your craft. I am impressed and inspired!ππ«π

Good Evening, nostriches!π«ππ
I'm sharing this small instance as a recommendation of a beautiful online resource I discovered this year.
Here's a brilliant quote from an article explaining the etymology of the Greek word "ΡλΡγΟΟ."
"Proving someone wrong is like healing them from a disease, and if done with love and patience, will certainly result in wholesale happiness, gratitude and ultimately prosperity and peace."
You can find the entire article here,
https://www.abarim-publications.com/DictionaryG/e/e-l-e-g-ch-om.html
part of a very illuminating collection associated with this online interlinear Greek New Testament:
https://www.abarim-publications.com/Interlinear-New-Testament/index.html
With the caveat that I don't buy into the philosophical underpinnings of the author(s) of this website, I can't recommend it highly enough to serious students of the Bible.π
More than welcome!ππ»π«ππ
I think it's awesome...
I've been a big fan of "What 3 Words" for a long time, but concerned about privacy... This gives me a potentially 100% private alternative.
Ben Arc is an amazing, wonderful man. I had the privilege of meeting him in Nashville this year.π
If you wanted to "keep things fresh," you could self-host and use this brilliant tool:

Have ZERO doubt #Google is engaging in this sort of behavior. I also personally know #Yelp deserves everything they have coming to them.
A buddy of mine had his pizza shop in the #Indianapolis area essentially destroyed because he refused to play ball. After he didn't pay for play, the local "Elite" crew came in and loaded him up with bad reviews. Then they circled back and offered to help him in getting those removed. #technology

How about Amazon?π€
Definitely a two-tier, pay to play product search engine going on there...π‘
Brother, as always, I appreciate your interaction.ππ»π
> "I know, I know...we're not going to agree. π We've had similar back-and-forths on other matters."
It's not so much agreement I seek; my motivation is more along the lines of the proverbial "iron sharpening iron" and "stirring one another up to love and good works." I have learned, and expect to *continue* to learn from you; and I hope that--even far short of agreement--something I say may result in your drawing closer to our LORD and his logos...π
It's clear from your response that--as is so often the case--I have failed to be completely clear, or have left impressions that are misunderstandings of my actual "position" on one or more things.
> "...To say that this doesn't happen perfectly everywhere and by everyone--and therefore the entire concept must be jettisoned--is to be unfaithful to Scripture..."
I'm NOT saying that there is/has been no value in "conventional" churches as we know them. Though Israel REJECTED God from being King over them, even in their apostasy God continued to work through them to accomplish his purposes. It is obvious that likewise, God continues to work through his church everywhere, such as it is...
However, I AM saying--listen to Jesus--"Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline. Therefore be zealous and repent." It's high time for all churches everywhere to take a very hard look at themselves; how much is the aggregate accumulation of the turbulent drag of the barnacles of "traditions of men" slowing the advancement of the Kingdom? I perceive that drag to be HUGE.
> "Appeals to the idea that "scripture has been corrupted" are often more convenient than convincing."
Have you read any of my appeals in the above archive? Some have found them convincing. I'm no great scholar; I recognize my intellectual frailty and failures; but so many of the observations I've personally made and continue to make are so blatantly OBVIOUS on their face that they cry out for attention; I grow weary of knee-jerk dismissiveness based on naught but "appeal to centuries of ecclesiastical authority."
> "...certain functions are to be performed "in the household of God""
That's actually another great metaphor (in addition to the body). Also the temple/building metaphor... Just, God help us, *save us* from the top-down, hierarchical, "Western, Protestant, Reformed, and Presbyterian" rigid, Robert's Rules of Order, boardroom models that have taken over the church! We are a household, head of which is our "Blessed and ONLY Sovereign." Some of our doctrines and praxis are WRONG, or at the very least, counterproductive.
For crying out loud, in Presby congregations I've been part of in days gone by, not only was there a *pulpit*, but it was 100% off-limits to anyone who hadn't gone through the entire "ordination" machine... Now, there's a corruption of scriptural "one-anothers." I'm getting a little emotional here; sorry. The last "Presbyterian-flavor" congregation we were part of is one I ended up leaving after being told that I was FORBIDDEN to as much as carry on a PRIVATE CONVERSATION with other members in which issues such as the one we are presently discussing were raised...π³
> "Jesus didn't mean in that passage "you will not have any leaders" but that "this is the *kind* of leaders you must be in my kingdom" -- which is why our chief pastor-teachers are called "Minister" -- which means, servant."
The sad truth in most "structured," modern congregations I've ever been part of or heard of or read about, "servant leadership" is nothing more than a platitude. If you've truly experienced otherwise, God bless you; you are in a tiny and blessed minority.
The reality is that many, if not most, church members (often FORMER church members) are victims of "church hurt," and I lay much of the blame for that at the feet of the way churches are structured and run in the mold of the nations/gentiles/world.
OK, I've vented a bit here; but I've come to see you as one who is gracious, and I absolutely treasure your willingness to push back and call me out when your BS detector fires...ππ€£ππ«
Gotta go for now; thanks again for playing.πππ»
