So far I'm happy with the results, I can turn my head without my mask being obstructed. Live fore testing this week!! Just need a neck guard and maybe a dangler to keep pucks put of my throat, took a puck to the trachea years ago. To say it sicked is quite an understatement.

Well I'm not sure if this will actually work to fix my goalie gear problem, but it was a good to just noodle around with Solidworks and my printer. So calling it a win for now, first part here is just making sure it fits in the area I wanted it. Its not intended for use, the one printing now is quite beefier and might hold up to a puck.

Been having trouble with my goalie mask hanging on a piece of my upper gear (called a floater), usually we wear suspenders. Unfortunately the suspenders slide off the floaters.

Since I don't have any private lesson lined up for today it seems like the perfect day to sip on coffee and tinker in solidworks designing something to solve this.

I know I could totally order something designed for this problem... And I probably will in the end. Its more about the process, keeping my cad skills sharpamd playing with my 3dprinters

What happens when your U10 #hockey goalie says he really wants to try the #math he saw me doing at the rink before when we first met.

You give him a slightly simplified version of math he asked for that you're literally doing after a day of testing in the lab and show him a practical application for the math.

Yesterday I only exported the raw data off the MTS, so I guess I'm learning how to do all the calculations by hand now. I think I might have nailed the expected values for Polymakers Loyal Moses Sparkle Green PLA pro, I still need to verify it with the MTS data. Unfortunately there is a good chance another student wiped the test data.

All part of the learning process, which is the goal of this project. Learn and share the experience with the #3dprinting community.

Oh and I'm sorry math people for my terrible math notation, please be nice I'm still learning.

I'm doing tensile tests on 6 different Polymmaker PLA, I made the test coupons in solidworks based on polymakers tech specs. They are .0.2mm layer height and 100% infill.

This was something I wanted to do before I graduated but I never got the time for personal projects. I pretty much have free range in the school lab to do stuff like this and learn more about the different processes.

Next week I will be looking at these parts in the microscopy lab to further explore the failures and learn more about fracture mechanics.

This was the most shocking performing test coupon out of all of today's tests.
