π€£ Ah, thank you
Merry Christmas to you too ππ
Spending time with family is a good reminder that I'm the only one who thinks my jokes are funny π¬π
Good morning π
Two very special occasions todayβ¦
Of course, itβs Christmas Eve, which is one of my favorite days of the year π
Itβs also my first anniversary on Nostr
I was a relative newcomer to the #stackchain on Twitter, and I came across nostr:npub13uuzptfm62qx7fn597nds86n0fvx4whzwmsp4lsc9225xu4jx28qtqnaq2' mentions of Nostr while I was overseas visiting family last Christmas.
I was massively jet-lagged, so when I would wake up at 4am in Europe, it was nighttime here and I listened to a handful of spaces with Derek and nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s and a few others, started testing clients and chatting with the #plebchain, made one of my first Lightning payments for a NostrPlebs Nip-05.
Within hours I was completely purple-pilled, and the rest is happy, hilarious, heart-warming history.
So grateful for nostr. Love you all.
Happy nostr-versary & Merry Christmas ππ

Today's one of those days when I feel like I have so much to say and yet nothing to say. Just lost in thought about past & future... Christmas Eve has always been special to me. Many of my favorite traditions have always taken place here. Though the activities seem to radically change every 5-10 years, the spirit behind them remains the same. Something about that broils up a simultaneously nostalgic & forward-hopeful feeling. The present is an intricate weaving of what's done and what's possible. I am now who I was and who I will be. Life is beautiful... I should probably take a nap. π
It was fun & well-made. I was constantly worrying about the horse π
Stayed up late to watch Nope. Glad I did... perfect mix of cute/weird/action/western

Some things just aren't meant to be topicals, I suppose.
I'll have to figure that one out for next time
You work with what you've got π€·ββοΈ I had no intention of making candles until processing revealed the fattiest buck I'd ever seen. I didn't want to waste it
The thought of them promptly being snuffed & thrown on the trash is priceless ππ€£
Yep, just like gamey venison. I even cut it with beeswax to reduce the smoke & used spearmint & eucalyptus oils. I was very excited. I had rendered a whole buck's worth of tallow, harvested the wax myself & made 13 candles that I gave out as gifts... before test burning one.
I'm slowly turning my daily wardrobe into a social experiment...
Nice! I tried deer tallow candles. The smell was awkward. I have been reluctant to try other tallow candles since that incident.
