If there was legislation demanding a bare minimum of interpretability in the output of #llms business development would be forced to slow down and invest more in the technology. Instead we might be letting flawed #ai run our lives without knowing how it came to its decisions.

Looks like the current state of #ai is the one that comes after a step forward has been taken in product design without a real advancement in the underlying tech. As the money and the attention now come pouring in, can R&D take advantage of more resources or is everyone just pressured to deliver something, anything?

Illusions are pretty much the reality of business and politics. We can’t know the future, but we love to pretend like we do. We can’t imagine a world where people don’t have to work, so we generate tasks for everyone to do.

Reddit also jumping in the cloud cover provided by Elmo’s twitter by offering insane API pricing to third-party devs. The problem in the case of reddit is that everything good about the platform is third-party. Passionate mods, helpful extensions, great apps… Might be time to jump ship.

Can’t believe Apple will help the #vr market by giving it a new point of reference in terms of price and features. But the rumours are lining up.

If google had any sense of perfect timing, they would have announced that, henceforth, paying customers get an actual human person helping them when they contact for support. As opposed to whatever technocratic mumbo-jumbo is running customer support for them. "Add moar AI" is not the right call here.

When learning a new language, sometimes you need to orbit around it for a while before finding where to land. But #Rust isn’t as difficult as it seems: https://world.hey.com/ricardo.tavares/why-i-m-still-learning-rust-c1233cbf 👈These are my first impressions of #Rust and why I’ll probably keep at it.
