SimpleX is awesome. I've been using it since mid March and the big issue has been persuading people I know to use it. Calls sometimes get a bit laggy and sometimes take a little long to connect. If you need calls to show up/ ring on your phone you have to set the notifications to instantly which means you're not on the highest level of privacy. It's still, I believe, way more private than other messaging apps that people use.

Seems perfectly sustainable as exchange rate just adjusts with spot price movement. If channels hold too much liquidity size / value can easily be amended.

I’m picturing using the channels in the exact same way Strike purports to. As a way to move money instantly / globally but settle backend in whatever fiat the customer wants. Absolves them of cap. gains, MSTR takes their fee, customer gets instant settlement at ~98% cost savings relative to tradfi intermediaries.

Why doesn’t a company like Microstrategy use some of their #Bitcoin to create professionally managed proprietary Lightning channels and couple with enterprise-grade in-house custodial wallet software then bundle the package and offer to companies as a turn-key fast payments service?

They could offer global tx rates 30-50x cheaper than Visa / Mastercard with instant final settlement. Clear value proposition for any entity who adopted and MSTR could earn Sats and break into a new sector.
