With all the craziness that has been happening over the past few days with Unity game engine, it’s a good time to point out that there are many alternatives. My favorite being Godot Game engine. Not only is it very capable and amazing for building cross platform games, it’s also a total viable option for building cross platform applications. The GUI components and IO capabilities are top notch. Best of all it’s FOSS.

Yes I believe so. I think Vivek has the ability to bring in younger voters. I like both candidates, however in terms of the left, I don’t think the democrats would ever let RFK run. He threatens their need for government control.

I’m planing to prototype using Godot and the built in scripting options are GDScript and C#. If I need to I could link in a C/C++ or rust lib, but if I can get away with C# it would much less of a hassle.

Yes, have been reading up on it a bit. It's very detailed and well thought out. However, my vision is more simple and less deep.

Im still fleshing it out.

Untitled Nostr Game

This is a very rough idea of the game. Details are not yet thought out.

- Each relay is considered a galaxy

- Relays can be pay to play or require high difficulty pow key for player to join

- Planets, asteroids and npc enemies are proceduraly generated

- Asteroids can be mined for resources

- Mining is done via nostr pow events.

- Asteroids have varying levels of difficulty for pow events

- Once an asteroid is mined, it becomes depleted and cannot be mined again.

- Resources can be used to build up and control planets

- Different types of resources are used to build different types of structures on planets.

- nostr pow events are also used here

- Planets can be captured when users use higher levels of pow events.

- Pow events can only be used once.

- Certain structures that are built on planets can be used to mine better ships.

- Nostr badges would possibly be used as visual awards

- Ephemeral chat will be used so that players can chat in game. This could potentially be done via nostr, but may be done with another simple service.

Wow. This is very detailed and thought out. Very interesting. I will dive in deeper soon. My one critique so far would be the use of the word “metaverse”. 😅. There must be something better. lol

I envision an open world game where players mingle with others, chatting, playing mini games and just fucking around. Claiming land or of it takes place in space claiming planets. Bartering and trading. Using nostr as the communication protocol and more.
