Jeffy and nostr:npub1ee45xteqwgea4hn3slulwdrdhppp9079wr9xk3tamq9ntsruuqsqrn6twl there is a lot of nuance to this as each church and corresponding denomination can be different on this.
Meaning, the more progressive denominations are going to consider it sooner than a more conservative one.
Now, generally speaking the church as a whole is usually about 5-10 years behind when it comes to technology adoption.
They are late majority at best and laggards at worse.
So, getting them to accept BTC or any other crypto as a donation is typically not going to go smooth as they similar don’t think that way.
There often needs to be stepping stones AND they pay their staff and bills in fiat…so there has to be clear off-ramp process for them.
This complicates their internal processes which depending on size of church and staff doing the finances etc, they will most likely opt for status quo.
Now, as a stepping stone you might try attaching (introducing BTC) to a capital campaign or other short duration fundraising campaign such as a missions trip or youth camp scholarships.
This way they can see it in action and develop the process on a small scale.
It also may be a thing of 1% of the members would use this option so it’s. It worth it to them.
Board and elders would need approve ongoing acceptance and so the best path would be to begin to Orange pull decisions makers and key people.
For example use the Microstrayegy and Bitcoin Standard use cases as proof.
The reality is you have to connect BTC to what they are passionate about or focused on as a congregation.
I’m willing to chat further if you want.
The angle I am approaching this is that every church should accommodate the medium in how a congregant desires to tithe. many churches already do this (i.e. company matching, stock giving, etc).
Typically there's rarely any issues to accommodate the above so why should BTC be any different? I don't think it should.
I believe there can be a case regardless of denomination, theology, philosophy of ministry, country, for every church to be equipped to a accept BTC.
if you have any suggestions I'm open to it as well. i wrote an article on the reads section, I sent the leadership a version of that and why they should consider it.
they dont have to convert their fiat to BTC, just be able to accept it in case someone in the congregation is willing to tithe in BTC.
I've just broached the subject with the leadership but it's difficult. I still set aside BTC in my personal wallet for tithing so that when they are ready I can send to them
what did you have in mind?

Just curious, for the address distribution, institutions and nation states are included in that right?

curious to know your reasoning behind this...
Sorry. I suggest you read nostr:npub1sn0wdenkukak0d9dfczzeacvhkrgz92ak56egt7vdgzn8pv2wfqqhrjdv9 book
thanks, I will.
my understanding is that meta doesnt have the keys...it's only at the client but am I mistaken?
if that's the case, it is so shady. they are lying to the public.

how is this possible? does what's app keep a copy of each users key to decrypt? or is he saying the CIA has enough computing power to crack the encryption?
do we know the geographic distribution of mining pools?
I am surprised you don't have more followers. Keep up the good content, I personally appreciate it.
