nostr:npub1mmt2c7qgq404483t3fdd6njl9yhgw6hskn7rsypa7jmzy2s5450qluszvq It’s nothing special! I’ve been toying with the idea of “URL as sentence” or “URL as statuslog entry”... and with a clever Icelandic domain name, the social.lol API, and a tiny bit of scripting, I whipped this up: https://adam.newbold.is/making-a-little-thing-for-statuslogging

It fetches my latest statuslog entry, renders it in glorious minimalist text, and even redirects to a URL that fulfills the “URL as sentence” concept.

It’s dorky and impractical, but I still think it’s kinda cool and I’m going to toy around with it!

Description will wind up being the alt text for the image, and caption will be what’s shown on the image page. I do feel pretty strongly about making sure that the pics that appear on the landing page all have alt text, so I do really want to encourage people to add a description when uploading, though it’s not required to perform the upload. Does that make sense? I’m open to feedback on any/all of this!

nostr:npub1ewxjfjyzggghttl0vkj9jtwur5ya3ppkqct0yraqjse3tljjvresswy3dm I totally agree about making sure descriptions are added to images. I wouldn't mind if that were a requirement for images being public, though I guess it wouldn't prevent someone from putting nonsense just to make it public. Having a separate caption field definitely makes sense as well.

I'm wondering about the description requirement. Is it going to be a problem to allow folks to upload photos without a description if they don't care about them being "public"?
