modern video mixers can perform a lot of tasks you'd ordinarily need a computer for, and they render in real time.
for most things, having a video mixer (the original hardware device that OBS is inspired by) isn't necessary. but video mixers are cool devices.
it's amazing that you can set up a live broadcast from an event with a laptop, some webcams and OBS. it doesn't cost much money at all.
they're talking about clients and protocols - the devs of the most popular clients are on stage

finding an itch to scratch is probably how a lot of novels happen too. the author has an opinion on and turns it into a story to get it published.
it almost never works for me to "think of something useful" in terms of coming up with software ideas. it's more like i find an itch to scratch and then the ideas come naturally.

the Nostr ecosystem is still young enough that it's possible to code things that people will care about because it's not overcrowded yet.

i was looking into buying Bitcoin futures at one point and managed to sign up for a trading platform but it turned out that the Norwegian branch of it didn't actually have the Bitcoin futures i was looking for
ah, i used to work as a contractor for a place that traded in salmon futures so i had to learn how those worked - they gave me a crash course in them when i joined the team
