๐Ÿšจ The world's first vIBAN to support lightning addresses is live!

With Bringin, you can now receive euros ๐Ÿ’ถdirectly from any Lightning payment, just by sharing your LN address ๐Ÿ’Œ

pseudo@bringin.xyz

What is it? How does it work? Let's dive into it ๐Ÿ‘‡

It works just like email, but for Bitcoin. You share your LN address with anyone. They send you BTC over the Lightning Network. That's it. ๐Ÿคท No invoice. No QR code. No extra step required on their sideโšก๏ธ

โžก๏ธ Get you LN address now! http://bringin.xyz/ln-address

Once the sats hit your LN address, theyโ€™re automatically converted into euros and credited to your Bringin a vIBAN ๐Ÿ’ถ Then, you can spend those euros instantly with your Bringin Debit Card ๐Ÿ’ณ or transfer them via SEPA ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ

More about vIBAN ๐Ÿ”— https://bringin.xyz/blog/learn/viban-for-bitcoiners-and-self-custody/

This makes it ideal for:

โ€“ Freelancers paid in BTC

โ€“ Donations & tips in sats

โ€“ Friends sending you Lightning payments

โ€“ Using Bitcoin as a payment rail

โ€“ Merchants who want no setup or POS

Bitcoin in, fiat out. Frictionless.

Bringin is bridging Bitcoin-native UX with real-world finance, without compromising on sovereignty or speed. Itโ€™s a small revolution for anyone who wants to use Bitcoin, not just hold it. ๐Ÿ” https://blossom.primal.net/3fb77ffd3c20968af599350006df7c9ecb6d7b100a8a61d03d3cd50a75926dff.mp4

Just now, I asked my little sister to download and try the Skibidi Wallet:

https://github.com/aniketambore/Skibidi-Wallet/releases/tag/v1.0.0

She downloaded it, got to the in-game intro of wallet creation โ€” and got stuck. She did not noted down the mnemonics. Then she paused and asked me: โ€œWhy do I have to write down these random words? I just want to move forward.โ€

She got a bit frustrated, but went ahead โ€” for me, after I told her to write them down as this is part of the game.

After that, without any help, she created an invoice and told me to pay.

The receive worked, but the wallet balance update took time.

She stared at me and said: โ€œThis is fake. Why isnโ€™t my balance showing?โ€

The transaction history showed up instantly, but the balance took 1โ€“2 minutes to reflect.

Eventually, I sent her an invoice for 50 sats.

She scanned it and paid it.

Then came the next one that hit hard: โ€œWhy do I lose money every time I send or receive? Why is there a fee everytime? Who would even use this?โ€

And finally, the knockout question: โ€œOkay, now what? What can I actually do with this Bitcoin? Can I buy anything in a shop?โ€

I had no answer.

๐Ÿš€ Just dropped the first brainrot Bitcoin wallet for Gen Alpha!

๐Ÿš€ Excited to share my latest project: Tiny Satoshi โ€” a 2D RPG game designed to teach Bitcoin self-custody in a fun and interactive way!

Built for the Bitcoin++ Hackathon, this game aims to solve a critical challenge in the Bitcoin ecosystem which is the lack of accessible, beginner-friendly education around self-custody. Many newcomers often default to custodial solutions because self-custody can feel complex โ€” which goes against Bitcoinโ€™s core value of financial sovereignty.

Tiny Satoshi addresses this by turning learning into an engaging adventure with quests, challenges, and hands-on experience.

Developed using Bonfire Engine, Flutter and BDK

Hello! I'm glad you've found my posts helpful. Regarding your question, the Lightning Network primarily focuses on making fast and cost-effective microtransactions while enhancing Bitcoin's scalability. Smart contracts are not a primary feature of it. But it's possible, like the fairness protocol used for routing in LN which is HTLC is a type of smart contract written using Bitcoin script to secure payments. But your channel peer also needs to be capable of understanding that contract.

Well, there have been discussions and experiments related to adding certain smart contract functionalities to the Lightning Network. This would mainly enable more complex operations beyond simple payment channels.

๐Ÿš€ Let's Explore Lightning Nodes! (1/8) โšก

1/ The Lightning Network is a game-changer for Bitcoin. But what powers it? Software applications speaking the LN protocol. Let's dive into Lightning nodes, the backbone of this innovation.

2/ Lightning nodes are versatile. They're wallets, facilitating payments over both the Lightning and Bitcoin Network. They communicate peer-to-peer with other nodes, forming the network. Plus, they need access to the Bitcoin blockchain for securing funds.

3/ To maximize control, users can run their own Bitcoin and Lightning nodes. But here's the cool part: Lightning nodes can also use SPV to interact with the Bitcoin blockchain, offering a lighter approach.

4/ The Lightning Network isn't a product or company, it's a set of open standards for interoperability. Various companies and community groups have built open-source Lightning node software (LND, c-lightning, Eclair, etc) enabling collaboration and community-driven development. ๐Ÿ”ง๐Ÿค

5/ Unlike Bitcoin, where the standard is defined by a reference implementation in software (Bitcoin Core), in Lightning the standard is defined by a series of standards documents called Basis of Lightning Technology (BOLT). ๐Ÿ“œ

6/ No single reference implementation for the Lightning Network exists, but there are competing BOLT-compliant implementations from different teams and organizations. These teams not only build software but also contribute to BOLT standard development. ๐Ÿ’ผ

7/ Lightning node software differs from Bitcoin's. It doesn't need to follow consensus rules and can experiment with extended functionality beyond the BOLT baseline. This flexibility allows for innovation and could shape future BOLTs. ๐Ÿ’ก

Let's Make Bitcoin Lightning-Fast! โšก

๐Ÿš€ Hang tight because we're diving into the exciting world of the Lightning Network!

๐ŸŒ Have you ever wondered how to make Bitcoin transactions faster, more scalable, and more private? Well, that's where the Lightning Network comes in.

โณ Back in 2015, two brilliant minds, Joseph Poon and Thaddeus Dryja, introduced the Lightning Network to tackle Bitcoin's scaling issue.

๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’ฐ Think of the Lightning Network as a second-layer technology. It helps handle transactions off the main Bitcoin blockchain, making them quicker and more cost-effective. It's like the Flash of microtransactions!

โšก๐Ÿ’ธ Now, here's the cool part: Users put their Bitcoins on the Lightning Network and only interact with the main Bitcoin blockchain when they open or close payment channels. The result? Lightning-fast payments that don't wait for confirmations!

๐Ÿ˜Ž But there's more! The Lightning Network has some awesome features. And remember, the Lightning Network isn't a separate coin or token; it's built on top of Bitcoin.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Are you curious to learn more about this exciting world? Want to discover how to build your very own Non-Custodial Bitcoin Lightning wallet? Join me on this journey!

Hello! That sounds like a great idea! ๐Ÿš€ Building with LDK and Flutter is really super cool and exciting. Let's connect!

Hey, thanks for checking it out ๐Ÿ™

Hi Johns๐Ÿ‘‹ Thanks a lot for your kind words. I really appreciate your support. I'm thinking of making it available on F-Droid once all essential features are fully developed and ready. Stay tuned ๐Ÿ™

The main difference is that Bit-Chat is developed using BDK and primarily supports Bitcoin on-chain payments. On the other hand, Bijli is developed using LDK and offers a broader range of features, including the ability to pay Bolt11 invoices, create Bolt11 invoices, open payment channels, pay zero-sat invoices, on-chain payments as well, and more.

That's why it's a non-custodial Bitcoin and Lightning wallet โšก

๐Ÿ“ข Excited to share my latest project - 'Bijli,' a non-custodial Bitcoin Lightning Wallet โšก๏ธbuilt with Flutter & Lightning Development Kit (LDK)! I've been working on this app during weekends for months, and I'm thrilled to show you a quick demo.
