Formerly @PortsmouthBTC on The Dead Bird. Used to do some stuff. Finally started doing stuff again. Possibly the only Bitcoiner to have *actually* lost everything in a boating accident. 🟠2013 🟣2023 #photography & #boatlife & #growstr #fishing amd #vibecoding fan and reforming church goer.

Well that's a gloomy outlook...

Fingers crossed for all of them - Bitcoiners are naturally more beautiful than average, so they'll make good kids

I'm 16000 days young.

Might get the hang of it eventually.

I see lots of people on this evening's hot topic, #datechain - closest I've seen to organic trending posts so far on #nostr

I'm not looking, btw. I'm happy as is. But hope for the very best for the folks who are looking.

There's gonna be a whole load of bitcoin babies born soon...

Rocket boy's trying to find someone to blame for his utter fucking failure πŸ˜„πŸ˜†

Can I just confirm, to save me the agro of delving deeper, these are basically renamed side chains?

I remember when it was a theoretical. The tech didn't exist. Same as Lightning.

I'm not entirely against the notion of side chains, since BTC is permisionless it's up to people what they build, but I have two main reservations;

1) The only solution seems to be to change Bitcoins underlying code. Not a deal breaker in and of itself, except 2)

2) The people pushing this will quickly move on the the next "must have" change. I can tell, by their zeal. Zealots don't ever chill. It's not in their nature. I don't like that when there's so much at stake.

Slowly does it.

Retail onboarding is great but we need whole supply chains. Also, farmers and miners (actual miners).

Nice, you've moved up in the world 🌎

Within 48 hours I'd raised enough, largely from the Bitcoin community, to by another boat - it isn't as quality as the one which burned, and it in turn got damaged in a storm last year, but she's comfortable and will (once I've finished the repairs) take me where ever I want

So yesterday was 3 years since the fire where I lost everything. This time 3 years ago I was sat looking at the remains. Everything I'd built for myself, all my work, bitcoin, camera gear, laptops, everything...all gone.

Rebuilding is tough AF, but it ain't the first time in my life I'd been wiped out and had to start from scratch.

There's definitely a general attitude difference between Bitcoiners and nocoiners

I don't remember twitter ever being this friendly, supportive and collaborative, even in it early days.

Planning on making it so πŸŒžπŸŽΆπŸ€™
