Just jumped back on the yacht after 48 hours away, she still needs repairs but the mooring is ready to go back to.
There was a load of ice right across the cabin and when I got in...it was a bit nippy...

GM #nostr - I've missed saying GM to you lot, the last week or so have been hectic, hence hardly posting/interacting.
Trying to decide on a colour scheme for the yacht and wondering how to make orange and purple work together in this format. Sails is the obvious one, but that's a bit outlay and I don't need to atm - it will happen eventually though.
True story ππ

Looked at the dead birds carcass and saw people creaming themselves over the possibility of an ETF...
And so left the carcass to rot and came back here, where hopefully, sanity prevails.

This guy was injured on his rear flank by a propeller. It resulted in what's called a sucking chest wound. Air is entering through the wound, filling the abdominal cavity compressing and collapsing the lung. There looks to also be some broken ribs. What you should do here:
Find some sterile plastic like cling film, put it over the wound and tape it in 3 places so it forms a one way valve.
Suggestion is also that the effected lung should be on the person's downside as it could help prevent the effected lung from completely collapsing under the pressure of accumulating blood in the chest cavity. Keeping the good lung upwards may assist in maintaining its correct functioning. However moving a person in this state is very risky as broken bones could cause more damage, so in this situation, don't move patient, and get the one way valve working and call for professional assistance.
Feck, that's worse than any of my collapsed lungs, but then, barring operations they were never caused by external trauma. Good advice reg the valve. It feels bloody weird as your lung slowly reinflated as the air is drawn out (usually by a drain of course).
Wear it like it was deliberate π€π₯³
5% doesn't give me any kind of thrill. I need some 20% moves, up or down, at least.
Thanks for the love guys - yesterday and today were both challenging - the boat is "secure", so to speak, but vulnerable.
In horizontal rain and wind I reset some lines earlier, added new ones to keep her secure and prepared to have her moved back out.
The plan is to float her tomorrow and get her back to her mooring by Saturday.
My hands were red raw, covered in salt and sand by the time I was done this morning...it's not always the easy tranquil life and I long for those hot summer days ππ
So I nearly lost the yacht earlier π¬οΈπβ΅π
Had an emergency call, went down in the midst of a storm to see her rolling sideways on the beach, right between two houseboats.
I so nearly lost her, my home.
Had to wade in, grab emergency lines without getting squished and drowned, drag them out and tie her off to any available solid point.
I've now got to go back and put more proper and secure lines on her, then go back in the morning and check the mooring.
Bit of a mad day π±π€
Nope, I won't. Because I don't want to profess my ignorance publicly...
Or even if your in the UK. I worded that badly.
I don't know where you are in the UK but at the moment it seems everyone wants to paint their houses/offices/shops grey and black. I liken it to the national depression at the end of empire in the 60s when Brutalism in architecture was a thing. Your observation about the emo thing could be another indication of a sort of collective depression in a similar vein.
Was your choice in tune with the exponential line on the debt chart or the linear?
GM and Happy 2024 everyone - 2020 derailed my plans, '21 stuck the boot in, by '22 things had begun to get real hard, by 'mid 22 and through '23 I pulled things back together. My plan is to ensure that '24 is even better than '23. I'm going to keep working, studying, building and doing. No new years resolution for me. Just keep doing what I have to do.
I hope each of you has an incredible '24. The more you put in, the more you deserve your success. And if your plans get derailed, fear not, time is on your side ππβ
It's 11pm here and I'm gonna crash so I'll catch you all next year πΆππ₯³
Go to Google translate and convert sharp knife into Latvian π
I am so childish this made me chuckle...
