Sorry but this is stupid. You can’t expect to be the only bot doing this. Do you have evidence that other bots have bad intentions? Why is your notification spam “better”? If you think the notification behavior is spammy (it is) then you should also stop tagging users in zap posts.

It’s an interesting project if you look at it through the lens of experimentation instead of as a scam, which can sometimes be difficult. They did do some interesting work especially in the space of using quadratic funding for matching donations - say HRF donates a pot of money, which projects should get a cut?

I agree that gitcoin itself is complete garbage and unnecessary, but the platform does provide some useful examples of funding frameworks that any new platform should at least be aware of in terms of attempting to decentralize crowdfunding.
A nostr/lightning version would be actually decentralized and wouldn’t introduce an unnecessary shitcoin.

Despite all the shitcoinery involved, it would be great to have a gitcoin like entity/spec that would help facilitate crowd funding for projects and establish funding for bounties. Seems like something that could reasonably be built out using lightning for payments and nostr as the social layer.
This would make user data more robust across nodes without users needing to nuke their battery life on a phone to publish to 25 relays, which I see as a common complaint. nostr.wine is the only group I see attempting rebroadcasting for users at scale, but it’s an even better fit for a backup node that might not need to be performant for most usecases
Ability to rebroadcast notes to other relays. No other service offers something like that yet.
I had used it for transfers and other operations, but nostr was responsible for my first actual purchase of a good or service using bitcoin. Just a T-shirt but it must have been one of the earliest examples of e-commerce over nostr! #[2]
