Some former antimasking friends seemed stunned to learn despite my disabled, immunocompromised state & being marked as medicallly ineligible to get any covid vaccines - I've not suffered any bad flu & managed to not get covid for over 3 yrs. It's because I mask up everywhere indoors & outdoors in crowded areas, wash/clean hands & living spaces often & refuse to put myself around unsafe ppl & environments. I don't care about 'missing out' on many things.

I'm not going to take unnecessary risks. I value my life & other peoples' lives much more than I value free trips to faraway places.

I live in a very white place and I knew at the beginning when people were dying at an intense rate that I'd never get the care I should get if I got infected, so I made sure to take every precaution available because I didn't want to be in the position.

My Mom, my brothers & myself have been covid free & flu free since covid came to Canada. We're trying to stay that way but it's difficult when surrounded by majority of antimasking public. We don't really socialize with others much anymore because it's too unsafe in indoor spaces. We do safer outdoor things instead.

A few of my friends' kids have recently returned from some Summer camps. 8 kids & 6 parents so far are now totally sick with covid. This isn't good whatsoever. There's going to be more kids, parents & school staff getting sick once schools open again. No mask mandates & very little changes in air quality controls in schools in #BritishColumbia .

- a highly educated public who will question them & their policies
- a healthy public able to be strong enough to fight back against government corruption
I strongly believe that is exactly why corrupt politicians try to strip away both public healthcare & public education. When they can't - they destroy resources to both so they can't function effectively.
I've said it before. I'm saying it again.
Despite the problems we all share with #PublicHealthcare & #PublicEducation - both are worthy of defending & fighting to protect. We can work on improving both - which would benefit every single Canadian.
The only folks upset at citizens wanting government to help improve both those public services are folks who benefit from privatization & making profits off them.
Be VERY WARY of anyone who wants to profit from healthcare & education.
