My idea is to use the publications from here https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1600 in that way, so that images in an article can have captions and authors thaken from the original event and can be commented and zapped independently while embedded in a bigger story.

I have been hacking on it today, but it seems to me thay the bech32 class in bitwasp does not play nice with tlv. I have no idea why, also the decode function does not allow for bechs longer than 90 chara,but in nostr-tools this limit is raised to 5000. I feel I need to fork and improve the bech32 encoding/decoding functions. What are your thoughts on this?

Excellent, I am working on an implementation, but it is challenging me. I translated the tests to php, but I think I am now at the part where I need to convert the data to bits. Will continue monday, but hopefully sooner. How is your progression?
