Creating AI art. Making Nostr 👕 Just plain having fun!⚡️

“Fantastic new discoveries await!”

#nostr developer ready for anything

Nice that the #nostr "good ol' days" are here.

Thing is, they're here to stay.

Ouch. 😬 too bad there’s not a decentralized solution out there that’s not prone to single points of failure. 🤔

Isn't ChatGPT owned by Microsoft?

So, in essence Clippy is still here, hiding, waiting for the moment to once again to ask us, but in a deep chilling voice, "Do you need assistance?"

Right, just thinking about YouTube creators etc. that want to turn off the comments on one (or all of their videos) and find that feature valuable.

People can still discuss and mention which is great.

Nostr has the potential to become more than a decentralized version of twitter. Trying to think through how some of the other sites YouTube, Wordpress, handle comments.

Nostr could become the backbone for blogging. Some bloggers turn off comments and just post their articles, others enable the comments.

Bytheway, I love the comments! Just going through the thought experiment.

-- Nostr No Comment --

On YouTube and Wordpress, a creator can opt to turn off comments (at post or account level).

It can be used to stop harassment, threats, scams, or for businesses that just want to post announcements.

Nostr is more than just a twitter replacement. It could be the next advancement in blogs, replace YouTube, etc. A comment-free nostr note could still be be reposted and discussed by others, retaining the social aspect.

#[0] #[1] #[2] and everyone else, what do you think about having the ability, for users that want it, to turn off comments on a post or at the account level?

#WelcometoNostr Day 6

Let's get technical.

How does the Nostr Protocol work?

Day 5 of #WelcometoNostr

How to post/embed a link in a nostr note.

Copy the full URL of the webpage, YouTube video, etc.

It usually starts with “https”

Then paste it in your note.

Thank you, nostr client for making the link look awesome!

Hopefully they’ll be added there soon! Amazon starts auto adding the other marketplaces after I add a design.

This is the way.

Hey Nostriches! I need some help.

I've created some Nostr T-Shirts and have listed them on Amazon.

There are more designs I'd like to add, but I first have to sell just a few more shirts to open up the next tier to be able to add more designs. It’s an AmazonMerch thing.

If not, I'll take down a couple of the current designs and add the new ones in their place. Just wanted to offer it out there for any interested in getting some Nostr Tees for #nostrica conversation starters, gifts, etc.

I’ve got them on Amazon US, UK, IT, ES, DE, and JP. Much thanks for any help spreading the word!

Nice. I wonder if the bounty hunter wants Beskar as payment.

This is Midjourney's idea of Mandolarian holding Beskar 😂

We never did get a sequel did we? ET 2. Perfect!

Let's have some fun. What caption would you give to this?

#WelcometoNostr Day 3 aka March 3rd of #MarchOffTwitter

How to post an image.

When I started, I couldn't find anything that indicated how to post an image on Nostr. After a little guesswork, it worked. For those who may be wondering, here's how.

As of the current date, there's no upload a picture button. I believe this will come with future client updates.

Right now, your image needs to simply be posted somewhere on the Internet. To get it in your Nostr note/post, copy the full url to the image. It will usually start with https and end with .jpg

You can host your image pretty much anywhere you can get the url.

#[2] runs Nostr Build to help with this. Where you can upload a file and get the url to post into your Nostr note. Easy peezy!

I like the idea of self-reporting.

Community reporting of others' notes could be gamed by a bunch of bots that have been set to target a certain user.

With that said, a check by the community isn't a bad thing to protect users that want it.

I seem to remember that a tweet could be obscured with the message that this tweet has been reported to contain sensitive content for some users. Tweet wasn't deleted, but you had to click through.

You could have clients have a toggle to turn that feature on/off.

If we think a couple years out and Nostr powers a good bulk of social media. Classrooms use it with their own relays, etc.

It'd be great to have some protection built in for minors that will be using it.

Awesome. Thanks for the zap! I wonder if the button missing was a glitch in the app or something. Thanks again!

I like that #[7] blurs images from those I don’t follow. It’s a little inconvenient, but then again I get to choose if I want to see graphic content and not have it tossed in my face.

As the protocol and clients are still new, it’d be great to address the explicit/graphic content issue early on.

Maybe much like the podcasts and music in Apple get marked “E” for explicit. There could be a note tag for explicit that users mark at the note and even account level. Then clients could have the option to filter.

Filter, not censor. Not everyone would use the tag, but the companies that deal in that sort of content might, or may be required by law, and that would help.

That’s interesting, you mean the lightning zap button for the post?

It’s there for me at least. Weird.

For #MarchOffTwitter let people know where you've gone!

Consider a periodic post over there like:

Just having a blast on Nostr
