One time I went with a bunch of friends to a famous old mosque, known for its rich history and architecture. It’s built on top of Saladin’s fortress.

Women have to cover their heads with scarves in mosques, so I bought one of those out front.

The problem was, I was wearing my prescription sunglasses, and had lost my normal eyeglasses. So I kept my sunglasses on to see properly inside, and the combo made me look like some wannabe discount rapper or something.

Anyway, gm.

My husband read 34 of 45 chapters of my hobby sci fi manuscript so far, and the funniest conclusion he's had is that it's less autistic than he thought.

He said he knew I would do action and fight scenes well, but for the downtime scenes with friends and partners and stuff he was like, "not that I'm saying I didn't expect you to write them decently, but like, you know... and yet holy shit."

Act 2 really hit him hard. He's currently traveling, so for Act 1 he sent me all sorts of audio recordings of his thoughts and gave some good suggestions, like very interested but kind of intellectual about it. But then for Act 2 instead of sending audio recordings he's was like, "We... need to video chat right now, omg." He ended up reading that second act in one sitting and messing up his schedule because of it.

I hope they actually free Ross though.

Yeah I’ve been documenting it here on Nostr for the past month. 75k words in. I don’t know if I’ll get it good enough to publish, but I do plan to finish a full draft.

It is. I guess this entire site has to be restyled and together with that the Asciidoc styles. Also Asciidoc has support for sidebars and stuff, but currently that will just show up in the middle of the text since there is no space -- maybe on Wikifreedia the sidebars would have more space to exist.

Oh, I also have to fix the &'#s issue or whatever that is.

During this talk, I dunked on Egypt's currency as my primary negative example of Broken Money multiple times.

And then during the Q&A, since this was Princeton, one audience member of course was like, "yeah, I was the former minister of finance in Egypt."

Imagine a movie where the main character is like, "freeze frame, rewind, how did we get here?" That was kind of my thought at the moment.

But he was cool. He ran finance for a two-year period during a benign environment. He wasn't the source of the issue, fully understood the issue of course, he asked good questions, and we talked afterward. But it was still one of my favorite "holy shit" moments in presentation history.
