Haven't tried that, what's the speed like?
For privacy or just because?
Curiosity and energy.
Friend and I coded some stuff I don't understand how we were able to with our nonexistent knowledge and super limited tools.
Risk is a spectrum, it all depends on the amount you are holding and on your appetite for risk!
In theory any additional apps are an attack vector.
To keep your bitcoin node safe keep it to essential apps for functioning of Bitcoin.
Get a second media server.
Oh no, will this be as messy as fork wars of 2017? π±

Google services are not supported on Foss editions.
There is a feature request (with bounty?) to introduce a general notification api (translation?) in amethyst and plug in to a Foss notification service for Foss editions.
Somebody has to build it π€
Where's the coffee? π€
I like it! I was confused when I first saw the nostr boost feature.
Lightning prism is an actual commitment to distribute the payment. Boost isn't.
Bitcoin is all about zero trust and verifiable claims. This works better in a pseudo anonymous distributed community...
But maybe Nostr will be a reputation based network where a verbal promises will hold π€
Fake butter.. Something something... Free speech!
Iβve just had an interesting conversation with nostr:npub14yf4yasnqgpkzjrzhysshglf82e8nkp8r9sn5hzqu4n244k3avtshhwpyu saying everybody is welcome on #nostr and we donβt treat influencers or celebrities any different.
But a question.
Is everybody welcome here?
It is an open protocol, so everybody is free to engage, but do we want to replicate the toxicity of X or the vacuousness of Instagram?
Is this is different place not intended for everybody or is a new self sovereign content protocol that is intended for all?
Opinions pleaseβ¦.

Sliding into your bitcoin-only feed with some NOSTR normie content...... with the interesting tale of fake butter....
By 1898, 32 out of the then 45 states had passed laws restricting the artificial coloration of margarine. States such as Minnesota even required margarine to be colored pink to clearly indicate it was artificial and not real butter. In 1898, however, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down these βpink lawsβ as unconstitutional.
Five minutes down this rabbit hole.... Today's going to be a good day.
Thanks, Murray Rothbard, you mentioned it for like 30 seconds, π.

βThe twentieth centuryβs shift to an easier monetary medium has reversed this millennia-old process of progressively lowering time preference. Rather than a world in which almost everyone had access to a store of value whose supply could only be increased by around 2%Β a year, the twentieth century gave us a hodgepodge of government-provided abominations of currencies growing at 6%β7% in only the best examples, usually achieving double-digit percentage growth and occasionally, triple-digit growth. The numerical average for the growth of all national currenciesβ broad supply during the period between 1960 and 2020 is 30% per year. Calculating the average weighted by currency size shows us roughly a 14% annual increase in the market supply of all fiat currencies, which can be viewed as the average money supply increase experienced by the average citizen of the fiat nations of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.β

It's very scary. Especially when you realise that many everyday items have been produced infinitely more efficiently and should have been going down in price.
Hi, I'm from the future. The answer is yes.
