There is no easy mode. Algos were always a bad idea. The aim of the game is effective social connections, not followers at all cost. You earn your social network by, you know…..networking. The old fashioned way. Not by being fed like a baby bird from the mouth of Elon.

I’m not in anyway trying to be abrasive. Just to help you see that the algo and ‘discoverability’ is exactly what makes your time on Nostr better and more effective in the long run. No more passive choices being picked for you….time to choose your own adventure!

Nostr is smaller and more intimate at this early stage, but high signal. I have found that following a lot of people helps, since there’s less overall activity and having more follows gets the activity on your feed up. You can go through some of your favorite people’s follows and make sure you are following people you recognize for starters.

Also, Nostr tends to incentivize less debating and sensationalism, so it’s a bit less active in the negative sense. It’s more mellow, less addicting.

You’re currently only following 100 people. You can look through other people’s follower lists (you’re welcome to borrow mine) as well as any of the people who are commenting on this thread. Don’t be afraid to #AskNostr. Nothing will be served up automatically, but if you put in some PoW and post consistently you’ll start to see results.
