Discussing technicalities about Bitcoin and Monero can only bring us so far. Most people don't care and just follow the current trend. And how is a trend boosted? Not by features like High-Privacy or No-Inflation, again: most people just give a shit about these features. The trend is generated by mass media. Mass media does whats good for the system and the system wants to centralize power, by surveilling and controlling more and more types of transactions between humans. With Bitcoin it can enforce surveillance by imprisoning coin-mixer developers and their tech. With Monero, since Privacy is built-in, the system has to deny Monero fully. Both of these actions are happening right now.

Bitcoin might be the "winner", gains more value and wide-spread adoption as it is compatible to the system, but at what price?

I am still favoring Monero, not only because of its features and anarchist spirit, but also because I know that it is the exact opposite of what the system wants.

Well said 👍. The sole reason why we are not living freely is because we as a species still haven't learned to appreciate it. Most people just want power, money and/or secure their family at all costs. They are willing to trade away inalienable rights, for the opportunity of slavery (state), "its okay to be a slave in a system, as long as the others are bigger slaves" - the opportunists.

How we come out of this? I see only one way, the species must evolve. We can fight for our whole life, many did, but nothing will deeply improve, as long as the species doesn't evolve. And it seems the evolution will require a lot more pain, more pain than what we already saw. I fear what the nazis did is gonna be a cheesecake, compared to what we will have to endure.

I had a great time with the developers and artists of said project. A fork at this moment would probably help nobody and just undercut the hard work of the other volunteers. I hope that the project managers will get to a similar point in the future and will have to learn from their mistakes instead of kicking out hard working developers. The project is imho very important for humanity and I still really hope that it will succeed. But sure, if the managers screw it up, a fork might be the way, if its not too late by then.
