Altruistic anarchist, down-to-earth, independent hobby astronaut ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿš€ and amazingly lively, passionate web developer in the stand against the technocrats. Also founder of nitropage.org, the FOSS visual website editor.

Volunteers getting kicked out of open-source projects seems to be very popular these days. Recently happened to me too, in a project related to freedom of speech. I guess we senior developers are just such an easily replaceable resource, that even working for free is not good enough for the non-profit project managers, you must also have no life, be available around the clock and you definitely should not be russian.

Right on! I've actually created a whole website/project for this at https://thedemocracyupgrade.org/.

Just to try to show people that our "democracies" are a joke and that Switzerland definitely has better system.

Not perfect of course but MUCH better than what we have, an upgrade basically.

Not a lot of people care though :D

> But even in switzerland 99.9% laws are made by politicians and not voted by the people, organizing referendums takes a lot of time and money

Yeah, I wonder if municipalities could start more digital efforts to streamline votes and/or polls, at the local level. I'm sure somewhere someone could start a kind of open source voting app to at least allow people to give their opinions and polls on every single legislation (at the municipal level).

Have a great day!

Love your initiative and the website. Believe it or not, couple friends and me are working on a concept that would take even swiss democracy to a new level and does not necessarily require digital processes.

Great point about the municipal votings, making regional laws that are voted by regional people is a great way to increase democracy. But this also shows an important fact:

Generalizing and globalizing laws more and more, does actually decrease democracy, but increases system efficiency. Corporatists and politicians love efficiency and hate effectivity.

Dang ๐Ÿ™ˆ! Gotta go, breakfast asks for me ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿซต๐Ÿผ โ€œSocialism works, we have just never implemented it wellโ€

We all heard the quote. But what If I told you that there is ONE place where socialism (or communism) actually did work? No, itโ€™s not in Cuba or with the Soviets, or Pol Pot.

Iโ€™m talking about Social(ist) Media. Social Media. It worked online.

โž– you think you own something, but actually you donโ€™t. Property rights donโ€™t exist.

โž– you donโ€™t earn anything, but are creating wealth for the boss/CEO. They get rich, you swipe for them.

โž– everything you do, is for the greater good (or: โ€œthe algorithmโ€). Youโ€™re feeding it every single day.

โž– you think you are in charge, but actually you are constantly surveilled and monitored.

โž– you have no freedom to say what you want, as the โ€œthought policeโ€ is always there to censor you.

If you really look at it, social media is maybe the best implementation of socialism so far. Or maybe even communism โ€” Lenin and Marx would be proud!

Luckily, there is a peaceful way out. We donโ€™t have to fight, but we have to ignite a revolution with code. โ€œIdeas are bulletproof, they cannot be killed.โ€ Nostr is this peaceful way out!

With nostr โ€œyou own somethingโ€, โ€œyou earn somethingโ€, and โ€œyou are in chargeโ€. Itโ€™s the antidote to Social(ist) Media. Itโ€™s Free(dom) Media. โœจ

โ€œYou never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.โ€

~ Buckminster Fuller

Problem is, we also never really saw proper capitalism I think ๐Ÿค”. Its always some mix of capitalism and socialism, ending in corporatism driven by a steaming pile of shit a.k.a kakistocracy.

If they knew about it, they propbably would knew that their democracy-models are an absolute joke ๐Ÿ™ˆ. But even in switzerland 99.9% laws are made by politicians and not voted by the people, organizing referendums takes a lot of time and money ๐Ÿ™ˆ.

Yupp two of the things are about the rental contracts ๐Ÿ™‚.

I can asure you that you will stop liking to read this stuff after a couple times anyways ๐Ÿ˜…. Its usually bureaucratic changes that in the end do not help anybody except of the usual ones. The state game is finding things that you think are in favor of you, but actually just legitimate more state, more control and more force. The vote documentation is full of blatant lies and state propaganda. Its always interesting to see how they reinvent their lies again and again ๐Ÿ˜‚

Happy to announce Nitropage v0,61 ๐Ÿ™‚. This release includes lots of little ux improvements, fixes and a completely new code editor for css and markdown fields.

To be fair, I never said "lets regulate nostr apps so that they must have privacy by default", I absolutely would be against such a regulation. But if there are two nostr clients, one with privacy by default, and one without, I would recommend the first one to my friends ๐Ÿ˜….

"Allowing" users to make mistakes is completely fine ofc ๐Ÿ˜, but it also should be fine to talk critically about clients and how they can be improved.

Absolutely ๐Ÿ˜…, but the thing with privacy is that non-tech users and newbies probably also would like to have it by default, without first learning about Citrine and Amber ๐Ÿ˜‰

Amethyst automatically saving post drafts on the network feels like a really really bad idea for privacy ๐Ÿค”. I mean why do I have to "request" the deletion of a draft? Never wanted to upload the draft to the network in the first place ๐Ÿ˜….

Luckily this is Nostr with dozens of different clients to choose from and not a single-client big-tech platform ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿฅ‚

I said a N-O-S, a T-R, a G with a single M

But first, I gotta bang-bang the boogie to the boogie

Say up jump the boogie to the bang-bang boogie

Let's rock, you don't stop

Rock the rhythm that'll make your nostr rock

True ๐Ÿ˜ but definitely not allowed by the Schedules Direct API, the API is only made available for personal use and you are not allowed to freely share the data with the world ๐Ÿ™ˆ.

Sometimes you just need to make something for yourself :). I built a tv schedule app just for movies, a project that I wanted to make since years ๐Ÿ˜. It lets me bookmark movies of interest, hide seen ones and filter the list by past movies that are accessible through tv replay. The schedule data is imported from schedulesdirect[dot]org.

Thanks for that idea โค๏ธ. I have tried similar things in the past, not specifically these though, might be worth a try ๐Ÿ™. There is however the clear tendency that such things rather trigger even more phantosmia ๐Ÿ™ˆ..
